how close are we?

how close are we to being a dominant team? when i see our team play i see a team that is so close to breaking it open on offense, but lack chemistry at the line; a defensive squad that seems hungry but unconfident; and a long snapper that seems to be at the core of every broken special teams play. if we improve at the turtles pace that we are going at, and feel like they are improving game by game, at what point does it all click? how far into the season do we get before we:
score 40 points? - best= 31 pts @washington and vs ull
keep a team from going over 200 yards? best= 210 vs vandy
shepard scores his first touchdown? longest rush was 13 yds vs vandy
a rusher goes over 100 yards? best= k. williams vs vandy 72 yds
jefferson throws for 300? best = 233@ miss st.
i honestly thought all of these would have happened by now.

Not close.
We're closer to a 6-6 team than a dominant team at this point. Doesn't mean we can't improve to become dominant though. I just don't see a lot for me to bet on that.

Long ways from being dominant, man. They have work to do on both sides of the ball, the defense gives up to much yardage and doesn't attack, not my favorite style of defense. The offense is not in synch at all, Jefferson threw the ball better yesterday, but his arm strength is not what I thought it would be, he short arms a lot of throws. and the OLine needs work.

If we commit to one offense instead of trying to force several different looks I think we could be pretty good, 9-3...maybe 10-2. However, I don't think that will happen.

Personally I think the expectations were too high for this team.With that being said there is no excuse for not improving after 4 games.

It's much simpler than that.
If you can't run the ball, you can get it done consistently. You can pull one out now and then, but not on a regular basis.

There isn't but I will say the defense has improved IMO every game. Still not 'where we want it' but considering how much the offense is putting them on the field I think they're doing just fine right now.

We havent been dominant since Miles has been here, with the exception of a game here and there..no consistency

Yeah we do but looking at this team in the spring I don't see how ANYONE could expect that realistically.

No but like I said, from a TEAM perspective, I don't think anyone could reasonably say "this team looks like an SEC championship team".

i'm looking at what this team has done and seeing that ball control is probably the biggest problem.

I can think of a handful of games where Les Miles' teams dominated a good team. The Peach Bowl last year against Georgia Tech was of course the most recent. What other game was there last year. The year before that, the Ohio State game for the MNC. I recall the Virginia Tech game. With the exception of maybe bowl games, it seems Les Miles' teams play to the level of the competition. It doesn't seem like it was much different under Nick though. It's mostly human nature I suppose. They just don't have that killer instinct like some other elite teams out there.
