How can someone be excited about Peetz but mad about Jones?

We just wrapped up a season with the worst defense in LSU history. We fired a coach with a multimillion dollar buyout so we could fix a historic mess. The offense wasn’t the problem. The magnitude of the hires do not compare.

Assuming that the offense will stay good just because the guy we hired shared a lunchroom with Joe Brady for a year is delusional

For the record i'm open minded about both, and I would understand if someone was pessimistic about both....but to be happy about one and pissed about the other makes zero sense.

Because our offense is a lot closer to being good than our defense and he coached with the guy who built our offense.

So now LSU fans think we have a divine right to a good offense?

If anything that side of the ball has MUCH further to fall while all Jones needs to do is have our players not totally confused most of the time and we’ll jump 30-40 spots in the national rankings by default.

To be fair, Peetz as a position coach was far superior when you look at body of work. He helped Derek fricking Carr make the pro bowl 3 times and Christian McCaffery tore it up when he was RB coach. I don’t see any next level improvement when this guy was coaching.I want this guy to succeed but one guy was coaching pro bowl players in their best years while one was overseeing below average secondaries.

I just feel like DC is a tougher challenge to go back to. Especially given the offenses to deal with today.

Just an opinion though.

I am not exactly exited about either, but I am much more concerned with DC than OC.

This is definitely a contributing factor.

I'm not going to melt over the DC hire, but ATM I am extremely underwhelmed. Would be thrilled to be wrong.

I would agree that Peetz’s resume is slightly better, but to act like you know what went on in the Raiders building those 3 years to assign credit and blame for Derrick Carr making the pro bowl of all things is silly.

Dude, it is called: Implicit Bias. We have so many people get offended or defensive regarding their poor comments on the Rant.

The way you think is usually the same way you behave. I am still rooting for Coach O to turn the team around by getting the locker room fix, first, this spring. That will set the tone for the upcoming season. Then proceed with a big year of winning.

Geaux O and Geaux Tigers.

The Rant is a cesspool enough without SJW garbage.

It's called a resume undeserving of the DC position at LSU. frick right off.
