when he got any decent amount of playing time he was good
scrub in MTSU and Tennessee that was not ready for him
i will always be happy for his performance in the title game, but i think your sample size is a little too small

ok. then Miles has never recruited a QB who played consistently well.

it's still puzzling that an elite SEC West team can't consistently recruit and develop a quarterback.
I've been saying this for 3 years now

There's a big part of the issue, article was written by a woman.

but I would have given Mett a chance in the NC game.
Not me... If he gets crushed by bama then all you've done is created Lee 2.0... A QB with no confidence

Thanks Noonan.
The article is not about what schools can't get and coach QB's its about if the school has upgraded or downgraded from last year. If we are downgraded we are in serious trouble. Every where else I have seen shows us upgrading this article was puzzling.

They all shite on Lee as if he did not exist. The first eight games of the season were all his quarterbacking and the LSU offense did well, including the passing game. Somehow this is discounted big time. Even by LSU fans.
I do not see why national media types would fall into this as well.
Jarrett Lee was one of the top qbs in the SEC through the first part of the year and gets no recognition for it.

Miles has recruited many QB's who played pretty consistantly well....problem is, most didn't want to play at LSU and some didn't have the chest. hopefully Mett reverses that dynamic. bottom line....the state of Louisiana has to start producing real qb's, not athletes playing the position.

Perrilloux... for all his faults he played well in 2007.
RP was asked to do anything except run the obvious running plays.
He got the MVP for the SEC Championship but it required to great defensive plays late in the game to beat a Tennessee team with a mediocre defense.
RP had the talent but IMO, Les is batting .000 in developing quarterbacks.

Don't forget Zach Lee. No telling how good he would have been if the Dodgers hadn't flashed all that money in front of him. He quite possibly could have been the starter last year had he stayed.

It is true, Miles has failed to recruit good QBs. You can say he had some situations, but bottom line poor QB recruiting in 7 years.

Jarrett Lee won SEC QB on the all senior team.
He was pretty good, right up until the referee let Upshaw nail him after the play was well over in the 9-6 game.

the problem is qbs are judged as to how they perform in the clutch and against the best teams.
jl beat oregon but he didn't play against bama, georgia, and arkansas. if your head coach benches you then that has an impact on the public percption of you as a qb.
