All good things except: What did he have to do with retaining Aranda?

well there were people on here saying that if Orgeron was made the HC that we would lose Aranda (their rationale being, though not completely clear, was that Aranda would not work under Orgeron due to reasons of ego).

Since Aranda is still the DC, plus to Orgeron. If Aranda would have left, Orgeron would have been blamed for it, right?

Are you saying that miles didn't leave Orgeron as stacked roster?

didn't Orgeron play a part in that as well and when do you ever see a coaching change where the new coach keeps almost the entire class? another check on the plus side for Orgeron

With Miles being an Average recruiter. Got to give him credit for surrounding himself with a staff of great recruiters. That was his strength

sorry for stating facts...

if we are giving O reacharounds for just keeping what Les already had, that just seems like a really low standard

We had them before he was hired, and only through his hamfistedness which revealed an underlying lack of identity for the program did we lose their commitments.

What did O do that revealed all of that?

You know, I actually think his fans really don't respect him as much as his critics do.

I expect a coach in his position to make hires that will keep LSU competitive. They oooh and ahhh over everything he does as if they are pleasantly surprised or didn't think he was supposed to be doing these things.

Les Miles was a stubborn mule stuck in the 1960's, but there were some things he did very well. Any other coach who can do those same things at the same level should consider them accomplishments, just like they were considered accomplishments for Miles.

Fans are fanatics. Some cheer and praise a coach when something positive happens. Some just poo-poo any positive thing and only look to make a big deal of the negatives. It's the classic dichotomy.

Pointing out positives and cheering for them is not a question of a lack of respect. I expect LSU to compete for conference and national titles. When they win them, I'm cheering loudly. Expecting something and cheering when it is accomplished are not mutually exclusive propositions.

Don't think there was much chance at losing Aranda.
Just chicken littles starting threads.
