Is it? He never showed the knack to force the ball, he actually showed some ability to read progressions, he actually tucked it and ran if it wasn't there?

What was there not to like besides inconsistency........Inconsistency is a given when you are a True Freshman.

Yeah we stalled out scoring points in the 2nd half but we lost the Arky game because of DEFENSE.

LSU should beat any team when scoring 30 points. If you don't agree with me here then we don't have the same philosophy when it comes to football.

I know Jefferson will struggle but as long as he struggles without doing things to hurt his team, we will be in every game.

Well, he didn't lock on to Brandon LaFell on 80% of the plays, he actually threw the ball to other receivers, and he didn't essentially throw underhand softball lobs to Auburn defensive linemen, so I think Jefferson gets the nod on football acumen.

he fumbled twice in the spring game...he hasn't faced a situation where coaches have had time to prepare for his tendencies...he will now be asked to run the full offense vs. a subset put in because of an injury forcing him to play...he's still a sophomore with a long SEC schedule ahead.

I think he'll do great, and I'm pulling for him all the way, but it won't be easy.

<my apologies to Mark Grace's groupie for stating the obvious>

Thank God it worked. Sometimes I think the Rant has selective memory.

Hold on........because Jefferson was athletic enough to lob the ball to a WIDE OPEN SCOTT........you are using this as reason he is was/is a bad decision maker?

That clip didn't help your case......it hurt it, and improved mine.

There is nothing wrong with having more than one QB that can play. The total dislike for certain players around here is disturbing. The level of douchbagery to "just be right" is asinine. Like anyone other than the coaches have any say in who plays.

That's interesting that you would consider a left handed throw while falling down as an "athletic lob" but if anther QB was to do it, then it would be considered "forcing the ball".

Thats intersting that you are dumb enough to consider getting the ball to a WIDE OPEN MAN FORCING IT.........

Forcing the football is when there are other teams jersey around the reciever........

You really should listen to Maximus bro, you aren't too sharp.

I'd prefer "Favre-esque", complete with post play announcer fawning

I know. I have no idea why so many people hate JL. Personally, I like both guys. They are just kids.

See, we are just on different levels of thinking here.

same here. They both choose to play at LSU because they fell in love with it like most of us on this board. Dont get why anyone would want one or the other to fail, it's just plain stupid

and I never said I hated JJ. I just don't understand why you always jump in like gang busters and debate everyone like we all think JJ sucks. We don't. The kids did better than JL last year in 2.5 games. Great. I'm waitning for this year against a full SEC schedule.

..but none of this has to do with the fact that this:

How badly does the local media want J Lee to win the QB job?

Is just a retarded statement.

So many RANTards have so much invested in their attacks on J.L., that they don't want him to succeed, no matter how much it could help LSU.

The ranter brain trust, don't you love'm.

j lee only gets the starting bid if jj gets hurt or pulls a j lee of last year. now i dont think jj will ever pull a j lee of 08 but there is always the possibility of injury. now saying that i prey that he doesnt bc i think he may be better than some/most give him credit. after last year everyone seen flashes of greatness from j lee he has the big arm and can withstand pressure in the pocket but the guy does not have the smarts to make the throw under presure and all sec qbs need that to be successful because of the non stop smashmouth football we have in the sec. with work though in my opinion i think possibly there may be help for j lee. but to be honest i dont really care to even find out if he will be good if jj does exactly what he should do and that is go out and be competitive and give us a chance to win. WE HAVE TOO MUCH TALENT

I haven't seen anyone in the media insinuate that they want Lee to win the starting job. I've seen all of them say that Lee looks much better passing than JJ, but that's just them reporting what they see.
