Far too much season left to make such a definitive statement. The winner will be in a good position (particularly A&M because their schedule is weaker...until they get to Texas at the end of the season), but by no means a lock.

Ole Miss is more talented than A&M. In fact, man for man, they are probably as talented, maybe more, than LSU. Ole Miss went all-in this year.

The home crowd definitely gave LSU an edge in a game they didn't have a lead in until the very end. LSU won't have that advantage this week, so they will have to raise their game vs. A&M...even though personnel wise I think Ole Miss is the more talented team than A&M.

Going into the year I thought we had an outside shot to slip into the year I thought we would be in the 10-15 range, possibly slip into CFP, depending how things fell…
However, acknowledgingbthatbtalemt was thin in a couple areas, I knew injuries could kill us.

Much higher hopes now. Pleasantly surprised!

I am much more excited about our chances nationally now that we seem to be becoming a complete team with offense, defense, special teams, and dare I say a running game with a healthy Durham.

If we play well and win this Saturday night, I think we are headed for a showdown with Georgia or Texas in the SEC Championship. Alabama is always tough, but they are struggling in the secondary, and Milroe is a poor passer when pressured, and their OL is not great so we should be lighting him up. I think for a change that is a good matchup for us. I'm more concerned about Florida on the road tbh.

Playoffs? At this point, it would be disappointing not to finish 10-2 and host a game, or at least go 10-3, have things go our way and squeak in as an 11 seed.

NC? I would be just as shocked if we were to finish 8-4. I love the turnaround of this team and feel we could legit beat anyone on a given Saturday, but I feel we have a ways to go before I consider us equal to UGA, Texas, or Ohio St.

I dont feel to confident about our NC chances unless Nuss learns to accurately throw an over the top deep ball to a receiver.

I don't think this a national championship team.

what team doesn't have weaknesses? Georgia? They were dominated by KY and should have lost. They beat State 41-31. They are not the team they have been

Texas? They have played no one until Georgia. They are soft.

Oregon/Ohio State? Who knows with the big 10 but I ain't scared.

Miami? hell no

Penn State? LOL

Iowa State? LOL

Tenn? they were beaten by arkansas and should have lost to Florida. QB is a problem

I have seen all teams play, and the way LSU is playing now on both sides of the ball, with a healthy Durham, they can beat anyone in the country. That was a complete game win and performance Sat night. They need to get a bye, because I'm not sure they have the depth for a deep run, but, they certainly have the talent to win it all. They are VERY TOUGH in the trenches, and that is where it is won.

I don’t think we are a championship team quite yet. We’ll see in these next 2 games. We are a playoff team though so that is a big improvement from last year.

I agree. I believe we gotta championship caliber offense. As much as our defense has improved we’re prob still missing a couple pieces defensively (even tho I will say the 2025 recruiting class on paper absolutely can get this defense to Natty caliber we got some absolute dudes coming in)

With that said, the secondary coverage skills - minus Z. Alexander - are still problematic IMO. A prolific passing team will be a tough matchup.

Yea I gotta agree with this.Stamps I think is a young guys whose improving and tackles well but has some speed limitations. He got smoked badly against tre Harris idk if he can hang with a Texas , Oregon or OSU type passing attack. Burns has been great playing the box at star but obviously a spread out passing attack would torch him in coverage. If we were to play a team with an elite pass game I think Zy, stamps and woodland gotta play at the same time. They give you your best chance to play man coverage against a good pass game. Thankfully this will prob be the last year where we have this issue in the backend we have some absolute reinforcements otw in the 2025 recruiting class:

What nuss completion rate for OVER THE TOP DEEP PASSES? Answer that and get back to me. He cant do it. Al his passes weather ong or short the receivers stomach and chest is facing nuss. He cant throw over the top. The his vice he missed 10-10 over the top passes to where the staff just plain out gave up on it.
