Kudos to the guy who said we would be running it during the game. I think that is a lineup we can use in the future to really draw some mismatches against the defense.

Unfortunately, we only ran it once and Jennings fumbled. So the play might forever be tucked far away into the "secret playbook".

Thought it looked like a triangle. I wasn't impressed.

I was tripping out when i saw that. It is absolutely one of my favorite formations. So many things you can do from it.

Dana Holgerson formation

I'd like to see it many more times

But we don't want harris taking big hits though...needs to give it up the ball

I just like that you can do speed edge sweeps, power run to either side, play action, QB read option with any of the 3 in the backfield with you, angle routes, screens, quick reverses etc. Lots of plays can come from the formation

I know, let's not put our QB in that highly precarious position again.

I'd like it a lot better with Hilliard, Fournette, and Magee/Williams running it

I agree. It's my understanding that diamond formation involves extreme pressures and temperatures.

Was re watching last years Auburn game and the Auburn team used it and we stopped it immediately.
I am not a fan of it. I would like a four back formation tho... Like sliding backs and pick one to hand to and the others block. Nah.

By showing that formation to Auburn, although it was just one play, it will mean Auburn will have to spend some time practicing for it this week.

It's essentially an arrow pointing the way the ball went Saturday night. Backwards.

I figure we only ran it once because Jennings got the practice snaps for it, and Harris didn't. Once Harris came in it was no longer an option. Who knows about this week.

Diamond Formation Info

I love it also. With Harris it could bring an Oregon dimension to LSU football.

I'll be honest. The new formation scared the hell out of me. I thought Les was thinking if I had just one more blocker, I could play my power game so why not use two fullbacks.
