That was amazing to see. He took out 2 Clemson linemen and allowed Ross to have a lane to run into the end zone. Baker talked about INT returns being a point of emphasis this year after we always got ran down by the freaking QB on a bunch of picks last year so it was really cool to see that translate to the field.

Gerald has a bright future.
He is the true freshman DT I have been expecting would pop up every 2-3 recruiting classes for last 25 years and never materialized… it game one.
He’s the next Booger McFarland. I hope we see him in the backfield some. I saw the poor PFF grade, but I’m not buying it. He was chewing up double teams and triple teams the entire game. He’s the nose tackle we’ve needed. If he stays healthy, he’ll give us another and become the first DT I’ve seen start every single game at LSU for three straight years not just out of not having anyone else, but because of low base power and skill from the moment he stepped on the field.
I’m excited
