I guess we know that if he gets it, he won't come to LSU, but if Houston can't pull it off, he's going somewhere else, LSU or perhaps Texas is Strong isn't back for next year.

ETA: sorry, i guess i was a little unclear. I think it's better to say that if Houston can't get the extension done, then it's because some other school has offered a better deal, probably LSU or Texas

They can "attempt" all they want. The money he will command on the open market, there's no way Houston will be able to compete with that.

That's all his options? Extension or LSU?

The rumor mill had Texas in the running. Link to them not being interested?

Nice pic captain and I have a gut feeling Herman will be at LSU next season. I don't know, why might have just been the NOS and snickers I had this morning.

This makes me think that Houston is perhaps aware of other wink wink nod nod deals happening behind the scenes and is trying to get in front of it.

I think there is virtually no chance he ends up at LSU as long as Texas wants him.

UH's program loses money. They wont be able to outbid other programs for him. They will throw around Tilman Fertita but he cant outbid big programs by himself. If he could, they wouldnt have lost Briles or Sumlin. This is just posturing to appease their fan base. They know hes gone.

I have a family member that is a part of coaches contracts for LSU (as far as the process of legal matters entirely, drawing them up, specifics that are put into them such as incentives, etc.) and he says that he has been told that should Herman not sign extension with Houston that it's a 95% chance he ends up at LSU. While Texas is his dream job, the politics and just plain tendencies of the boosters having too much say so as far as the team and how the team is handled/ran doesn't sit well with him or most other coaches that would be interviewed for it in general and that Texas gets turned down more than people know for that reason alone.

If he gets the extension, that's a bigger buyout for LSU and more money in Herman's pocket. He gon git paid.

Good for Herman. He'll enjoy a nice extension while LSU is winning championships with Jimbo

Lol no. The buyout may be a little bigger but they just paid 8 mil for Miles to leave. Money ain't a thing to a boss. Only thing that can stop us from getting Herman is SC(home) or UT(money).

LINK

UM, yeh not going to happen. I believe this is the overkill of this topic.

I posted 2 weeks ago with link.

HERMAN IS NOT COMING TO LSU.

Texas has deeper pockets, and Herman has made comments before about how difficult the coaching position at LSU would be with all the pressure that comes with it. (I.E. Political and Fan based pressure.)

Whow wants to bet?? I could use the Xtra money, need to buy another boat..

Politics and fan pressure worse at a school that kept their coach 12 years vs one that may fire theirs after 3? k.
