Against A&M, D front 7 lacked fire, especially MLBs, undisciplined too. MLBs crashed into d line hastily instead of patiently waiting to fill gaps or penetrate. Jack and DE couldnt set edges. BJ was getting sucked in towards the ball carier and Ali was in a daze, waiting to react.

Jimbo did his work too, eliminated Perk from the edge by spying him. Kept on hitting our weakness on D; MLBs.

But most of all House and Kelly, they froze. They looked like they were hoping it will get better. They didnt get in the players arses. Shoudve tried Tolan or Weeks in MLB on early downs. Lined up Perk in the middle. Played 3 4 by adding Guillory. Ali shoudve been replaced by Jones way earlier. Take out BJ for a few and play Perk or Little.

When they saw no effort, they shoudve got in em or sit em. Will need to be decisieve on Saturday.

This is also something to pay attention to in the long run for the coaches. Second time this season we got outcoached.

21 missed tackles which was almost double our previous worst game was also a massive problem. Wish we could find out what went wrong.

Thatwas lazy tackling. Not rapping up all the way to the ankle as if they didnt want to fall on ground and get hurt. Trying to tackle high at those big thighs.

Dbs were coming hot and starting their tackles too early instead of tackling through; got stiff armed. But this is harder tackling once rb is rolling.

Having to play someone in the place on Converse didn't help.

I also so a post on here earlier today saying it very well could have been that our guys were out of position. I think that's what was going on when you mention the above quote.

Achane was a real problem. He played like a man possessed.

I still have faith in our guys.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you know what's the best personnel group than the guys that implement the defensive scheme.

The delusion in our fan base is mind-blowing.

Missing the point. Our best guys were not at their average let alone best. House and Kelly just watched; they didnt know what to do. So we bled out.

I’m 92 years old last month LSU freshman class of 1947. Could tell you stories about LSU Ya Ya and me would curl your toes.
Obviously new contributor but long long time observer.
Former player not a big time coach but a 21 year retired hard nose USMC Marine ‘runner of boots’ at PI and 27 month combat veteran in two wars.
I’ve stayed away from commenting until late for fear of being called a dumbass or worst for expressing an opinion.
I’m a die hard purple and gold survivor thanks to LSU ROTC but after years of watching here I never really understood the nasty name calling merely for expressing one’s opinion.
Nastiness wasn’t an elective class option when I lived in Tiger Stadium 4 to a room with shower and head down the end of the hall and neither was it taught in the United States Marine Corps. Both ROTC and USMC have 4 letters and so does CALM taught at both institutions. A little of it could be used here
So after so many years of greatly appreciating and relying on the opinions and insight of so many time-taking individuals contributing here I’ll go ‘quietly back into the night’ and stay there. Never liked combat.

Some of our best guys (aka starters) didn't play. They were beat up. Converse was out with a concussion.

I get what you're saying but it's not like they (the ones who played) just didn't give a crap about the game.

For the most part, LSU has been a great second half team this season. When your starters are injured and can't go, you have to go with someone who hasn't played as much as the starter (which is probably why he's starting). We don't have much depth at CB and that hurt.

Nonsense. They did what they could do with what they had to work with. Like I said, not much depth.

It's not like they just said "welp.... I guess we'll just stand here and do this. Oh well"

Stick around please!

Thank you for your service. You’re about the same age as my Dad who passed away 5 years ago. Everyone here can learn by listening to one of the “greatest generation”. God bless you.

Yep, first thing they teach middle line backers, when you see run, wait patiently. It’s called a run fit. MLB have gaps to fill, waiting patiently will only result in getting knocked on your arse.

I think Kelly and staff have gotten the absolute most out of the group that anyone could have asked for.

At some point people need to accept that it was a team projected to win 6.5 games at best. Whether anyone wants to hear it or not, we don’t have the talent and depth of many of our opponents yet here we are.

And spare me the roster rankings that factor in guys who are now playing elsewhere or in the NFL.

I only bother posting this bc odds are we aren’t beating Georgia and I’m sure the board will be full of experts again spewing their negativity about everyone from Woodward to the team trainers as if we are somehow every bit as talented as georgia.

That’s just not where this program is right now but better days are definitely coming as this is undoubtedly going to be the least talented team Kelly ever has here.

Yeah, it's quite puzzling why the D performed poorly? Hope the staff can figure this out.

We have next to 0 depth on our defense. They were gassed. Most our starters have played 95% of downs. That takes its toll and usually pops up in a bad way at the end of the season(which it did). I really doubt that the players just weren’t motivated knowing that a trip to the playoffs was on the line. That makes no sense.

The drop off between our front line players and back ups is vast.

That’s what happens when you rebuild a team starting with 39 players and have to scramble to fill a competitive roster(which is still incomplete)
