I've never stayed downtown in Dallas, I know it's a big city so just trying to get a few pointers where to stay at. We are looking at staying at the Westin or Hyatt Regency. Any advice is awesome, thanks in advance!

You will be downtown for sure and about 20 miles or so from the stadium.
There are "selective" activities downtown but most of the action will be about 3-5 miles away. ..either in Uptown or the McKinney avenue area.... or Trinity Groves.

Do not dismiss Ft. Worth about the same distance but with an active downtown.

You do not say what kind of activities you are looking for.

I stayed in Ft Worth back when we played Oregon and enjoyed it. Basically other than the game everything was walking distance to the hotel.

Safety will not really be an issue.
I would UBER to one of the areas I mentioned.
Play around on the internet with the names I listed
to see the areas.

I live in Dallas myself and love what Dallas has to offer, but anyone that's just coming for the game and to have fun around being here for the game should go stay in downtown Fort Worth, its just a much better downtown area. Tons of bars, great restaurants and mostly walk able. My wife and I go over and stay in downtown Fort Worth for the weekend at least one or two times a year just because we like the area so much.

Check out Hotel Zaza or the Stoneleigh. They are Uptown. Its a few minutes away from downtown but a much more active social scene. A little younger, but they have great bars for all ages that you can walk to like the Katy Trail Ice House

ETA: Like others said, don't count out Fort Worth. If you are younger than 30, I would stay in Dallas though.

I'm staying in Arlington. Walking distance or an easy shuttle to the game. I wouldn't want to stay down town with complicated/expensive parking. There are bars everywhere you go

I'm staying at the Towneplace Suites by Marriott which is like 0.8 miles from stadium.. not sure if it's booked up or not but it was around 135 a night (which was a really good deal for that area).. You can go on priceline.com and on your search instead of just putting "Dallas" in type in At&t stadium (it should autofill it in for at&t stadium Arlington tx) and when you hit search hotels it will give you how many miles it is from the venue. Good luck.

Hilton Anatole is a great choice and has a great pool for the wife and kids.

Places I would not stay in Downtown Dallas:

Westin or Hyatt Regency

If you have kids, stay in Arlington.

If you are young and single, you'll want to be in Uptown or Uptown adjacent. It's more pricey, but the two hotels you named are for business travel.

Seconded. LOTS of great watering holes within walk or 5 minute uber. Uberx is 2 min. away at all times in that area.

From the Stoneleigh, you are a 1 block walk to Nick & Sam's (steak) and Common Table (great casual tap house with outdoor patio)...all you need!

Ft. Worth is place to stay and it is no contest. Go down to stockyards and hit the saloons during the day. Everything is in walking distance or a cheap cab ride away.

Saloons and Bars. That's all most of you alcohol addicts are concerned with. Everything is centered around where yall can feed your addiction. So many just seem totally incapable of having a good time without drinking.

We live in Frisco, TX and have lived in DFW metro area for over 26 years. Originally from Opelousas. A couple of other posters mentioned it depends what your interests are. With the game being in Arlington, I would stay in Ft. Worth. Downtown Ft. Worth is nice.

Takes a special sort of douche to jump into a thread about partying at an away game and judge folks for wanting to drink.

Same here but when we go to FW we don't spend much time in downtown. Its a pretty vanilla scene there. 7th street area or near southside is where we go for the most part. But most tourists will like FW's downtown.
