ole miss has the easiest schedule with 2 home series Georgia and the hogs. both LSU and ole miss travel to AM. lsu goes also to Auburn. LSU has BAMA at home.

Could happen. That's the great thing about baseball though. We are still in it for the west

I still think we win it.

Hogs can give Ole miss more trouble than you think. They still have pretty nasty pitching even though their offense is pretty week. I could see them stealing at least 1 and maybe they get lucky and take 2.

we didn't help ourselves by not sweeping the vols, but you never know what can happen in this game. we still have a good chance. it would help us as far as RPI for the game with Alcorn to be rained out though.

It's WAY too early to concede victory. Ole Miss sweeping Kentucky was a big win for them, but we're only a half game behind them, and they've been a pretty up and down team this year. It sucks that we blew the sweep Saturday night, and Ole Miss has helped themselves out by picked up a couple of sweeps, they're 4-3 in SEC series and we're 5-2 LSU and have won our last 4 series in a row.

I wouldn't be shocked if Arky upset Ole Miss in Swayze or if they dropped a series on the road at Texas A&M. I think that if LSU can go 7-2 in our remaining SEC games (so win all three series with at least one sweep), we'll win the west. If we go 6-3 (win all the series with no sweeps), it's a toss up. If we go 5-4, then we'll lose.

And in the end, it doesn't really matter much anyway who wins the West. If we beat Ole Miss by half a game or vice versa, unless Florida takes a beating down the stretch and blows their chance to win SEC overall, the SEC's other national seed will be determined by whoever has the best run in the SEC tournament

Does this team set up well for tournament play? With the uncertainty in the number 3 spot we can win two games then what?

Granted we have won the past two game threes but its hard to go far using 6 pitchers in a game. You'll burn through the bull pen quickly

This is a good point. We really need a 3rd pitcher to go at least 4 or 5 innings. Then again it's not like any relief pitcher is throwing a lot of pitches. Seems most times they get about 4 outs or less each.

It's a legitimate concern, but I think a lot of that goes out the window come tournament time. Look at last year. Nola, our one sure thing, started the only game we lost in the SEC tournament. Let's say this year we get a bye week and Nola comes through this time and Poche does too. The third game will be shaky, even if we lose, after that everyone is going to have burned through their starters and be deep into their bullpen. Of course, we might also go 2 and Q, I think tournament play is too hard to predict.

Well in that scenario the other team will have used up more pitching than us.

Still too early. A lot of baseball has yet to be played. Considering it's Ole Miss, them choking seems pretty likely.

Cartwright has the ablity to go 4-5 just didn't want to chance it in a crucial game 3 Sun.
