Its not Peterson's responsibility to keep him out of trouble.
It's Peterson's responsibility to do whatever he can to help the team. Just because someone else is also responsible for something doesn't mean you can't be also. Tyrann is responsible for his own behaviour, but if Peterson can help him maintain that responsibility, then the benefit to the team certainly puts some responsibility on him to do it. It's part of leadership, and one of the things that makes a player like Peterson great.

I get a sense that if HB fails that this place will put the blame on PP.
Well, there's a lot of stupid on this board.

Just because he can help be responsible for Tyrann staying out of trouble doesn't necessarily make it his fault if he gets in trouble.

Of course some of these idiots will.
They've yet to hold him responsible for fricking the entire team, coaching staff and fan base over from his previous selfishness ways.

Why would this be any different?

anybody ever seen an NFL paystub? do they withhold taxes or are the players 1099? that's a HELLUVA lot of money in payroll taxes for the teams.

I can't imagine some of those kids faces when they get their first check and there is 40% removed for taxes.

on that same token, TM7, if you are reading this, be forewarned that you only get to keep about 50% of what you earn. Find a good, trustworthy CPA and advisor brother. If they're driving something super expensive, you should probably steer clear.

That's exactly what I was thinking. He will have tons of money in his pocket and access to even better stuff. This could end badly.

I am tired of all this wrong board kind of crap, and everything that goes with it. Everyone does not have a degree in English from Harvard. get over it. I know, I did not capatalize GET. Sorry.

pp7 vouched for him so he had better help make sure it works. 265k the first year (before taxes) is not much at all. he probably owes someone for the john lucas bill, agent fees, training costs,
living expenses. he won't have much left.

America loves this guy. What other 3rd rounder gets this much coverage? I see a BET reality show in the works.

PP7 needs to keep a short leash on the Badger.

I'm of the opinion that Patrick should treat him like any other teammate and if Mathieu makes a mistake he should have to reap the consequences like any other grown man.

I think that's a good contract for both parties.. I'm glad to see he landed somewhere where he'll have a little home support. Hopefully he can stay on the straight and narrow. I enjoy watching him play.

Maybe he can now buy us some coverage on that winning Bama touchdown last November. The one that the freshman DB made the mistake on and consequently lost the game for us. The freshman that had to play because A**hole Badger couldn't man up and stay away from the herb.

I hope he gets his life back together but he's on his own now. In more ways than one.

He will F up again, its just the way he is. He can't help it. Now that he actually has money, it will just fuel the fire. I would like to see him NOT F up, but I highly doubt that will happen. Good luck!!! You'll need it. That good luck is meant for his personal life and not on the field. He is talented on the field, just dumb as box of rocks off the field.

He is now a pro and will be paid. Regardless of the amount of guarantee he is some what fortunate to get much of a guarantee. His contract has some built in incentives; he will need to earn them through his correct actions in the NFL. Hope he realizes this is the last chance.
