well if LSU improved during the year under les, i wouldn't be as concerned

every year other than 2006, we've gotten worse as the season went on

point is the team is 3-0, and all agree is not close to reaching potential=a good thing. the team will get better. we all want to see the very plays you mention. does this mean the coaches are suddenly idiots?

how you go about it is what i disagree with. dont jump to conclusions just yet.

so running shep up the gut from the shotgun is going to set the world on fire?

Our coaches have no idea how to use anybody on the team. Looks like Jr. high ball sometimes.

what do you base this on? certainly not history

2005: got worse over season
2006: got better only b/c we played keiland
2007: got worse over season
2008: got worse over season

what in les miles' history makes you think we'll improve as the year goes on?

not getting into this debate. Time will tell.

But, SFP, technically speaking speed option is designed to pitch (DE is read). I think you want them to run Zone option is the one generally designed to keep (force player is unblocked read). Now obviously the QB still has to read it but generally that is how it shakes out. I'd imagine they'll work towards having Shep run the zone read triple and zone option. (probably some speed option too - though that is generally what they run with their pocket passer types).

Really? 5-0 in bowl games that we have dominated.

we run both, and i wish we'd see him running it when our offense is struggling

we need to practice it before we play UF and the other tough SEC teams

Remember Perrilloux much? They'll let him throw when the time is right.

No insult intended. I was just pointing out that we'd rather run zone option with shep. We do run both. As I said, Flynn and Lee typically ran speed option. RP would come in and run zone option back in 2007. Remember when he got stripped vs. Auburn and it almost got run back? That was Zone option.

So SFP is right. we do run both.

RP was much bigger than shep and not nearly the outside running threat. running him up the gut made more sense

i'm not talking about shep not throwing. i'm talking about shep being told to run it up the gut every play

Oh, my bad. I didn't realize that we were the only school in the country that had that much time off before a bowl game to prepare.

Maybe Meyer, Tressel, Carroll, Mack, Saban and others needed 5 weeks. They need to file some sort of complaint to level the playing field.

this team will get better because their bread and butter is changing.

i told yall a while ago that missing big herm and quinn was going to be the problem for this team. they dont know their bread and butter yet. practice and improved execution will show us what this team will fall back on in tough times. the vandy drive (to potentially tie the game) that ended in interception was as close to a bad situation as this team has seen. and what happened, td drive by LSU

A game that we have a month to prepare for?

Every team that we have played against, we have had more talent.
