Idk why you hold Holman. Jump is good for 4 but can't go deep enough for a 2 pitcher game and there are no other relievers that we can trust right now to bridge the gap to Herring. I guess he was expecting to use Hellmers there and burn Jump, Hellmers, and Herring for the win tonight but that just doesn't make sense to me.
Plus if you get lucky and Holman goes 7-8 or you get a big lead and you get away with throwing Herring for only 20 pitches or so he can come back on Sunday.

Please give me a counter argument for holding Holman tonight

They aren’t trying to win a game. They’re trying to win two games. The pattern has been win a game, then barely lose a game, then get blown away in the third game. Clearly they have to try something different.

Doesn’t matter if you can’t score

You are assuming holman pitches perfect through five, thats a tough ask against this team in this ballpark. We would prob still be losing, because we are a bad team facing a good team

We still only have 1 run tonight.

Sure we only have 1 run. But our best chance to win 1 is Holman/Herring. Idk how Jump pitching tonight improves our chances at winning 1 and I don't see it helping us win 2 either

For starters, if Jump was able to hold a lead before faltering around inning 4, as has been the case multiple times this year, you still have Herring available to give an effective long relief appearance.

I still think starting Holman and herring might give you a better shot of winning a series

Holman/herring can only go once, so why does it matter if its tonight or tomorrow? Also, we had the starting pitching advantage tonight, beam is throwing tomorrow for tennessee. So he is trying to matchup
