1) We simple don't have many good hitters.
2) We have a terrible approach and plate discipline.

A bad combination. It's not just solely the hitters or solely the coaching.

Is SB swinging the old bat?

Today they scored 3 runs. Not exactly murderer's row. On the season, the strength of the schedules between the two teams aren't exactly equal.

They are getting much better swings and contact by far.

Regardless of the bats, we just need to bring in better players. We have a bunch of players that are above average but no one that just jumps out at you. Next years class looks real promising so we can only keep our fingers crossed. It would not hurt to also get a new hitting coach so we can teach our hitters to hit line drives instead of hitting the ball straight up in the air every time and also a little patience at the plate!

well it was easier with the bats

You can say new bats all you want but it's still hitting. You still have to go up there and put a good swing on the ball and we don't do that a lot.

It is so frustrating watching a team like Stony Brook go up there with a good approach, work counts, hit the other way when necessary and just take good swings. They don't seem to have any problems with the bats.

Better recruiting. PM took vacation during recruiting last couple years.

I don't mean to belittle this team but if you can only score 3 runs in 18 innings of regulation baseball against Stoney Brook, you got yourself some pretty dismal problems hitting the ball.

This team will have to get in on a major hit parade in Omaha if they can beat Stoney Brook tomorrow.

You can't ask Justin Verlander to shut Stoney Brook out. Gausman did what he could but damn, our guys have to hit the damn ball. This is not going to be pretty tomorrow if we don't string some hits together and stop making dumb baserunning mistakes.

This is not cutting it right now.
