Oh yea it was laird who flied out. I still think bregs approach is different if there is a runner at third instead of second.

Harry bregs grounder probably gets through if mcmullen is on 3rd because the infield is likely drawn in.

Yeah I think so as well. He smoked that one so I think there's no chance either middle infielder gets to it.

I called for the bunt in the 8th at the time as well. I have a lot of confidence Bregs gets the RBI with runner on 3rd and 1 out.

The problem with that is that if 1B is open they were going to walk Bregman. And Raph hadn't really been coming through the past few games.

True he certainly would have been walked. Another thing I'm sure pm considered. Probably didn't want the bat coming out of bregs hands.

I think that's what he had to be thinking. If Laird can somehow get on base, they would have had to pitch to Bregman.

In my OP did I ever say it happens much? I indicated that it does happen.

That and his closer not being available so who knows if one run is enough. I still say bunt but it wasn't the monumental brain fart it has been made out to be.

Yes you did by saying my recollection that it hasn't happened much is faulty.

Agreed. To me we lost the game in the 7th when we had the bases loaded, none out and only scored once.

your snide comment aside his one bunt was with a runner at 2nd and no out, not 1st. so techincally the answer is zero.
