Getting the ball thrown you way is not something you are entitled to as a wide receiver…get open and the ball will start showing up. With the offense sputtering, this is a golden opportunity for the receivers.

I know it’s not the same situation, but ‘we the people’ on Tigerdroppings and entitled parents of players have about the same amount of knowledge when it comes to offensive philosophy and play calling

But that don’t shut this place up

Hilton's talent is obvious, but so are his weaknesses.
He has bad hands, is a poor blocker and does not run disciplined routes. He pouts when things go awry.
His PFF blocking and hands grades for all of 2024 were somewhere around 40, if not slightly below.
His PFF for the game at Clemson was 36.9! That's awful.
Brown, AA and Thomas are much more dependable options.
Hilton needs to look in the mirror.

He put the ball on the ground against Clemson. He needs to take his medicine. You fumble. You will sit.

The few times we have thrown downfield this year havent really been go routes necessarily, the offense is being called in a band box so close to the LOS for the most part, this is not where Hilton brings any value, as we saw in the Clemson game.

Less than 1/3 (about 31%) of our passes this season have gone 10+ yards beyond the LOS. Just for comparison last year almost 40% of our passes went 10+ yards beyond the LOS. We arent making teams respect us enough downfield nearly enough so far, a lot of that probably goes back to lack of trust in the OL and also maybe Nuss' injury from camp as well.

I suspect we will try more downfield shots, but more so when necessary, which havent been that necessary through first 3 games against less than stellar offenses.

He needs to learn to catch and not fumble. That would go a long way towards getting touches.

You have to block in order to throw deep balls.
We cant block long enough for a proper 7 step drop.

This aint brain surgery.

This just isn't true. Nuss has not been running for his life all game. If you want to bitch about run blocking you have a point... but pass protection hasn't been bad. Nuss has time back there.
Now I wouldn't be shocked if the plan was to get it our of Nuss' hands early vs clemson and florida considering their dline talent.

We are top 25ish in % of playcalls being pass and top 30 ish in % of pass plays resulting in a sack. Those numbers don't point to a shite oline. We call pass plays more than most teams and still give up less sacks than most teams.

I can promise you that there are posters on here that actually believe they know more ball than Sloan and Kelly.

LSU has a WR named Thomas. He’s the third leading WR after Brown and Anderson, other two WRs I mentioned in the post. Maybe I do not understand your question…

But Mr. Hilton (Sr.) we have an AWESOME running attack that we rely on….. with one 50 yd run the last game…… that’s all you need!

To hell with what Hilton Sr. Thinks. Maybe if his son could run more than a straight go route he’d see the ball. The QB is hurt and can’t throw the deep ball often so until Nuss heals, Hilton is fricked.
