Does this mean that LSU isn't as talented as everyone loves to think we are? 10-3 is a great record for a team with not very much all-conference talent.

That is more of the offenses fault than the D's. If you go 3 and out every series how do you expect to run alot of plays. I blame the O more than the D for number of touches
Granted, these two go hand in hand but its pretty damn hard to determine which side is more at fault. An argument can be made that when the defense is constantly giving up long drives it makes it harder for the offense to find a rhythm. Conversely, a offense that keeps the ball for a long time makes the defenses job easier. At the end of the day both our offense and our defense needed to be better. Lets hope next year is better.

Your earlier post hit the nail on the head.
What if recruiting rankings are based on the opinions of pot-bellied white dudes who know very little about talent but have figured out a way to make money off the internet?
What if LSU's best frosh just happened to be at positions where we were deep (Loston= injury/depth, Shepard=QB, RB, WR depth, etc.)?
What if Miles saw an opportunity for some frosh to redshirt, get a year of training under Moffitt, and burst on the scene next year?
What if we went 9-3, in the toughest conference in the land, with the toughest schedule in the conference, with the worst o-line in the conference, with a soph QB, and arguably lost to the probable national champs on their home field only because of an obviously blown call by the officials?
What if, the glass is actually half-full?

Nothing will kill a thread on here quicker than logic based optimism.

Vandy, South Carolina and Mississippi State rock that list.
We should endeavor to be more like them.

AL MUST SUCK - they have 3 on the team.
Shows what happens when you recruit and actually coach and then play the Best.

LSU has neither.
Bama and Ohio St. had true frosh who contributed this season. Also, all four teams you mentioned were full of all conference performers. LSU has neither frosh or upper classmen on all SEC teams.

All I am saying is this, the less talented your team is the more freshman you will have playing a big role on your team. Don't agree with that? Try this, go back and look at the last 10 years of all freshman teams then cross reference that list with the final standings of all the teams. The teams that finished in the bottom half of the conference will have the most players on the all freshman team. EVERY YEAR!! So which group do you want to be in?
