you can't stay at 6 oclock bro. you have to step up in the pocket so that it doesn't collapse on you at 6. get to 12 baw.

If he is going to be a statue then he needs to hit more if his checkdowns to ensure he gets the ball off.

Yeah, when he actually has a pocket he can do that.

There were times he had no push from the middle and could of stepped up. You have to help out your tackles some and let them push the outside rush behind you. This is very common especially when the team has speed rushers who may not be much more than that.
There were times he left too early. There were times he needed to step up. And there were times our oline completely whiffed. He surely wasn’t the only blame.

When he decided to move in the pocket, he seemed to move right into the pressure as well. There was a time where he scared chicken waddled up to an MSU DLineman who was being blocked by either Hines or Deculus. Can't remember when it happened but I couldn't believe what I saw. It was the worst movement option he could've made in the pocket that play and it's exactly what he did. He has happy feet too. When he did have time his feet were constantly moving.

He had a pocket most of the game. The OP is correct, he just doesn’t feel it at all and doesn’t step up.

Frankly, he looked like a freshman and that’s terrifying. Guy sucks.

In the first 3 quarters the issue was State stunting and the defense coming through unblocked.

Holding on to the ball too long was mainly an issue in the last couple of drives pressing to make a big play.

ETA: LSU lost the game because of the defense not because Brennan didn't step up in the pocket.

To me, it looked like Brennan didn’t see the field at all. He locked in on one receiver and if that wasn’t open, he lacked the ability to read second options. Burrow did an amazing job of seeing a receiver open before it happened and also throwing receives open. I hate to compare Brennan to Burrow though. Burrow put up all time best numbers.

It was definitely an issue before, as Brennan wasn't willing to throw his receivers open, and he missed a lot of open receivers.

offensive linemen are only half of the sack stats. you have to avoid the pressure as well. the first thing you do to avoid is STEP THE frick UP. he doesn't do that.

I counted at LEAST 3 times where he had a clean pocket and then proceeded to run out of it and into the sack.

The offense kept going 3 and out putting the inexperienced defense back on the field.

He did step up, a couple of time, but usually slid the wrong way right into a lineman. It is as if he had no pocket presence at all.
