Well, I think obviously Moffitt doesn't worry about bench press when it comes to strength training and I can see why. You almost never use that movement

As a lineman, that's the exact movement you use on every play, extending your arms and pushing the other guy. Pectorals & triceps are extremely important for a lineman, and I'm sure Moffitt stresses that lift just as much as others. It's up to the players to put their effort into the program. I'm thinking Herm isn't a workout warrior to begin with, and combined with an off-day at the combine cost him lot of money.

Maybe if you have a big board stabilizing your back. But that isn't the case on the field. Being strong in the pecs and tris combined with great balance and stability would be the key in terms of strength for a lineman IMO. You could achieve that with other exorcises then Flat bench press with a barbell. I am positive that this isn't big in Moffett's program based on our players results at combines.
