IF LSU is expelled and LSU obtains discovery, LSU’s lawyers aren’t going to ask:

“Did LSU do something questionable?”

They’re going to ask:

“Show us every comparable instance involving the other 15 members.”

Then you start looking at:

* player eligibility rules
* transfer rules
* recruiting contacts
* NIL arrangements
* impermissible benefits
* former-pro involvement
* tampering
* roster manipulation
* institutional-control issues
* coaches publicly contradicting conference policy
* schools ignoring or stretching conference directives
* situations where the SEC knew about questionable conduct but chose not to seek expulsion

And comparative enforcement is potentially much more damaging than simply finding that another school committed some unrelated violation.

The members voting LSU out either have inept leadership or are living under a rock believing their athletic programs are squeaky clean where nothing will come up in discovery.

Either way, I’d call that lack of institutional control.

I think a settlement will be reached. Nobody wants their laundry aired. This would be catastrophic for the SEC and college athletics.

Someone has to stand up and be the adult in the room!!
