GG just got exactly what he wanted -- attention from the LSU brass and now fanbase

It was permanent at the time because it was believed that Mathieu would just move on instead of taking the 1 year suspension.
So it was only permanent bc TM7 said it was? Sounds like he was running the AD, and not the other way around, in that case.

This is according to GG. He reported that the dismissal was permanent according to his source
I mean, Bahnsen's quote is pretty direct. I don't know what context could be placed around it to make it seem any other way.
quote:
TM failed more than 3.
That report, if GG made it -- which it seems like he did -- was not a good decision. I agree that he messed up if he reported that as fact.
quote:
GG's report on the permanent dismissal was proven to be bullshite an hour or so after he reported it.
Fill me in here.

Worse actually. Remember, he said he was "closer to the situation than we know." That shite was straight from his dumb arse
he even went on ESPN saying he was permanantly ineligible even after it was obvious that TM7 had changed his mind and was interested in serving his suspsension instead of bolting and going to Mcneese then the draft. GG was running wild with old info he got from the presser after the status quo had changed. IDIOT.

At the time Tyrann didn't want to sit out a year. He had a change of heart and so did LSU.

Serious question, Why wouldn't LSU revoke GG's access? Not worth the repercussions from the responsible media?

I've defended GG in the past because IMO he has been objective - which often times means his playing Devil's Advocate and calling the program, team or coach out on something. He's up to now been pretty solid as a journalist. I know I'm in the minority among Ranters in holding this opinion.
But GG has not been objective in his reporting on this and has stepped way, way over the line. He's lost my support and is now drifting down towards Warneresque stature. Enjoy Caddo Parish, skippy.
Garmisch, I respect your opinion, but vehemently disagree on the topic of whether GG reports and comments objectively (the reason I respect your opinion is that based on what you wrote, you seem to be a guy that likes to form his own opinions, as opposed to just falling in line with a flock of sheep. I try and do the same).
I do not think GG is objective, and base that opinion on the undertone of many of his articles, which generally seem to characterize Nick Saban as a far superior coach than Les Miles. Sometimes, the undertone is even stronger, going as far as insinuating that Les Miles is a buffoon. Nothing can be measured more ojbectively than a winning percentage. Nothing can be counted as easily as the number of championships a team has won. Notwithstanding Alabama's apparent inability to understand that 9 is greater than 6 (see their media guide), or that a championship awarded by Betty Crocker doesn't really mean much, its easy to measure a coaches success. The fact that GG still thinks that Les Miles is just an average coach tells me his is not objective, at least on that topic. If he can't be objective on that subject, chances are, he's not objective elsewhere.

Well, Les shouldn't have said "yeah" when asked if it was permanent. Same for Alleva and Bahnsen. But I get how they made that mistake.

Don't forget about the time that he "speculated" that TM7 could go to Bama. And then when he was called out on it he openly admitted to trolling the fan-base.

There's no such thing as "permanent, at the time."
"Permanent" means for all time.

That was an offhand, joking Tweet. Though he did intend it to be incendiary, as he admitted.
Still, that kind of tone on Twitter should be allowed, if it is not portrayed as fact.
