I’m usually a huge CPM fan but the fact that he refuses to throw these guys in order to save the season is asinine.

Especially with Henry - the rule should be that if an MRI is done and is negative you’re available, period.

And if/when the soreness then goes to an actual serious injury you can then bitch and say that CPM doesnt care about his players future. What a great idea.

Insightful reply; would read again.

When you’re fighting to host and about to be fighting to be in at all, you play through soreness.

Pretty sure Gilbert was in a full-blown sling at the beginning of this semester.

Would have to guess he was never on the docket this year. Hell, I'm pretty sure he didn't even make the trip to Alabama the other week.

I doubt we see any of the above for the rest of the year.

Gilbert is & has been 100% healthy
After shoulder surgery he lost all mechanics

We will not see Gilbert again

Hill, who began the season in the weekend rotation, has not pitched in a game since February. He strained his Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL), which is associated with Tommy John surgery, and felt more symptoms than Henry.

OP
you want to do more damage to Hill so we don’t have him at all next season?

You’re saying the guy who shut down Oregon State in Omaha is now worse than Costello, George, Ripol, Threadgill...?

If 3 out of those 5 were 100% you would be talking Omaha

The hitting would still need to improve but we’d definitely be in the National seed discussion. Which is why I’m saying at some point (now) you’ve gotta jusy put them out there.

If the kid has been to the Doctor twice and had 2 MRIs done and been cleared by the Doctor twice and he still won't pitch then what is the point of a Doctor giving a Medical Decision?

This is crazy.

Are you a Doctor? If a Doctor has cleared the young man then HE IS CLEARED. If he has soreness it isn't due to an injury. Pitchers have soreness all the time and this is why you have Doctors look at them and have MRIs done. At some point you have to rely on a Medical opinion. That is what they are for.

Why is Storz not hitting the ball? He was a beast in high school.

This is the most asinine quote I’ve ever laid my eyes on. You may be he biggest idiot we’ve ever had on this board if you really believe that. Either that or you’re 16 years old and can’t make your jv baseball team. Have you ever had an arm injury? If so, I see why you have, because you continued to pitch when your arm hurt because you’re so “damn tough.”

These guys are going pro which for the player means much more than winning in college baseball. Don’t risk a kids career for a better sec record.

Problem with that is if the player is hurting it can affect his ability to pitch. He may hold back. He may alter his mechanics some. We don’t know what all is going on behind the scenes. If Henry has gotten the all clear but his mph is down that could limit his effectiveness. Or his off speed pitches don’t have the same movement bc he is mentally changing his mechanics to protect the pAin. It is easy for us to say suck it up but we have zero idea of how the soreness is affecting them. I don’t know. My examples were hypothetical
