JJ said this in the interview in the 3rd. True story or just a message to Florida? I feel like Florida knew LSU had Skenes in the back pocket. Had to be demoralizing. What a weapon!

In the post game Johnson said Skenes was begging to come in the game. Johnson said he would have got him up to start heating up if it got within 5.

If that was a 3 run game in the 9th, Skenes would have been in the game.

Yeah Skenes said this in the spur of the moment interview with SEC Network... so I believe that if it was a 5 run game or closer that Skenes would've gotten in

The rallies in the 8th & 9th cost us 1 more view of Skenes pitching in a LSU uniform

That would be quite a dilemma if one could have chosen at the time.

The post game sounded like he just wanted to trot him out to the pen to get the crowd going and mess with Florida.
He wasn’t coming in unless they came within 5

Based on the timing and the score then I think it was within the realm of a true statement. Wasn’t quite out of control then although still early.

He held Skenes until the end to force Florida to feel the pressure of having to win it in 7 innings. Ended up not needing him with the offensive explosion.

Not sure why people are confused about this. JJ didn’t have a crystal ball to know what the score was going to eventually be in the 8th and 9th. If it was close , Skenes was going to pitch. Simple as that
