Entertaining thread! I read every word from page one. The vicissitudes of the two loquacious arguments between rbm and the rest of the Tiger Rant are considerably humorous.

I can live with agreeing to disagree. The circumstances both those coaches were in they couldn't lose. Miles had great recruiting from Sabin built facilities and should have won a whole lot more NC's with the talent he was able to bring in. But Sabin stopped him from that kind of success. Dabo was fine as long as he didn't have to face a SEC-W team in the NC. I an an advocate for LSU to leave the SEC when OK and UTX come in. Therefore no matter what conference we end up in we would be playing for the NC every year in January instead of November!

I underestimated the downvotes for OP. I had it leveling off around 300-350 or so before getting whacked. Keep up the solid work.

I have not move the post! Go back and read my orginal post! Consistant successful, I then gave examples of what I meant. And yes, I believe to be a consistent successful coach you must be a Lombardi, Bryant, Sabin, or Bowden type! History has made that clear not me! I can't believe I have to debate was is so obviously clears! Oh yes I like Sabin, so what? I ALSO loved the other coaches I sited! The only coach that isn't of that vein that I admire is...

We’re not here for your stupid guessing game. And no. You don’t HAVE to be those types to win. Lombardi, Bryant and Bowden haven’t been active in years. Hardly relevant to current CFB. Not to mention even Saban implements multiple types of coaching. Not just “rah rah work harder!” Yell till your lungs bleed type you’re so in love with.
