No, he's not brilliant. He is a little bit above average in intelligence, as evidenced by his 25 on his ACT. A 36 is a perfect score on the ACT. My daughter got a 34. Harvard was not the least bit interested. And they turn down about half the folks who get 36's.

Harvard was interested in Scott because he's a ball player, not because of his 25 on his ACT.

Really dude??? Maybe we are saying he's brilliant as far as football players go! SMDH

Yes ... Etling put up as good or better numbers while younger at fricking Purdue with no o-line, no Fournette, no Guice, no stud WRs, nothing.

Again, I'm not saying Harris is Tom Brady but he was 12/21, had 2-3 not perfect throws to Dupre that should have been caught, another one to Dupre that he stopped his route on, one throw rolling to his left that he missed, and at least 2 where he was running for his life as soon as he snapped the ball. The only chance he got to throw to a TE he hit Desean on the money for about 15 yds and then dropped a dime to LF.

My opinion is that no matter what QB we put in, they are screwed. There isn't 1 O-lineman on that team that had a good game, Pocic included. They didn't know their assignments and were manhandled. Same reason it took LF 3 quarters to get going. I just think that if we start changing QBs, it definitely won't get better.

Etling spring game highlight.. purdue highlights to follow

Doesn't look bad to me. I watched as much tape as YouTube had on him at Purdue.

Good arm. Great wheels. Plays quick. Makes quick decision. Idk. I'm hoping for better perhaps

Les Miles for La.Secretary of State..... his pressers are 4 Pinocchio's and whether it is Harris, Effling or Scott he throws them under the bus then says "what difference does any of them make" when they don't execute.

If harris can't complete passes, then they should go to Cameron and run the offense he had with Randle El at Indiana with Lindsey Scott. Move Pocic to LT, Clapp to Center, Maea to LG, Brumfield to RG and Weathersby at RT. Get Guice and Fournette as well as Desean Smith involved in the receiving game. Go with three wr set with Dupre, Chark and Dural. Defense is fine. On special teams, Kick the ball out of the endzone. Quit rugby punting. Kick the ball.

Can't do any worse then what we have now. But I know it won't happen.

This is the player that we keep hearing will never see the field...
And I hope we don't see him until Les is gone. Do you want Les to ruin another perfectly good QB?

Only thing is LS has gotten coached not only by Cam, but by NFL quarterbacks even while the kid was in high school, plus he played BH in high school and me being at that game got the better of him as a sophmore. Kids a flat out winner

Here's all I need to know about this offense:

1st play was toss dive left

Harris throws it over Dupre's head

It was like the opposite of a time machine. Like somehow a year had passed but everything was the exact same. Such a strange feeling.

I've watched Harris and Etling side by side at multiple scrimmages.
Etlig is not the answer IMO.

I have never seen Scott. Maybe he and Cameron click, that's important.
An OC basically teaches his QBs to see the field/reads as he does.

You really think he's faster than Harris?

The offense isn't dependent on QB decision time, but the progression of the play. Also, it takes a really long to get a play in at all. His "quick decision" making would be negated, if it even exists at all. I'm guessing it'll just get added to the Etling tales I've been hearing about.

Mett sucked arse his first year too.

You know what made the difference? Mett studied film like crazy. Took one class his final year and watched a shite ton of film. He took it upon himself to learn more about the game. This is the difference between him progressing and staying mediocre. Did Jennings or Jefferson put in all that extra time? Does Harris? Serious question as I don't know.

Apparently, Miles and Cameron are wearing off on you...

What a good offensive coordinator does is learn how his QB sees the field, and then he tailors the offense to the strengths and vision of the QB...

Yes. Miles wants a pro style offense though. Why they recruited players that don't fit that is a different argument.

An OC teaches his QB he's developing how he wants him to see the field based on the offensive philosophy and play call designs.
-if they are in this we are going to attack this... Look for this then if it's not open look here.

Doesn't ask him, "hey if they are in cover 2 where do you like to look first?"

Yes he should adjust his scheme based on the QBs strengths. But miles likes the toss dive. Harris was recruited here to run this system, and if you want to play in the league you need to understand how high level football is played. (I know preparing him for the league isn't what cam is payed to do)

have Cameron and miles recruited QBs that don't fit their scheme/identity? It looks like it.
My original statement was maybe Scott will be better suited in this offense if cam and him have a connection

Cam and mett had a connection, mett was money on third down. Harris can't complete a curl route right now
