Have you ever seen the amount of players go down on the field like we’re seeing this year?

I’ve been dumbfounded. I lost count, but it must’ve been a dozen or more times Saturday that an LSU player went down after a play. Sadly it wasn’t an anomaly, but more so a microcosm of this whole year.
Putting this into perspective that we have been soft as baby shite the past 4 years, Jake Flint is another notch in Kelly’s belt of worst hires in LSU history..
For as many people that we had on this board glad to see Moffitt get outed in 2021, I haven’t seen anywhere near the amount of vitriol for Flint and the fact that we have consistently gotten weaker, softer and more injury prone than even those last 2 Moffitt teams.
It may also have to do with being soft at practice, but I can’t imagine that tells the whole tale.

I have seen it before, but the WR injuries are bizarre to me. Everytime they catch a pass and get tackled it seems they are injured with something.

Its because our WRs have to do most of the run blocking and few passes they catch are in motion, so they are often hit immediately once making the catch.

There are three reasons injuries happen:
1) Players are not conditioned properly to eliminate stress points.
2) Players are not executing plays with proper technique putting themselves in dangerous situations.
3) Bad luck.
During his tenure at Alabama, Saban's assistant coaches were (forced to be) diligent in coaching the first two potential causes. I've heard their assistant coaches say that this was one of Saban's points of emphasis. The result is the incredible "luck" of Bama not losing many, if any, major players for a season while he was coach there.
Since 2019, those first two things have not been successfully emphasized at LSU. As evidence of this, I present the 2020 injury to Myles Brennan and this year's "soft tissue" injuries to Nussmeier and Weeks that were never presented as being all that severe but have lingered on all season.
So, yeah, Moffitt was great. But, getting everyone being emphasizing proper technique and proper fitness starts at the top, and the failures of DaCoachO and Brian Kelly include the injuries.
JMHO.

Hitter safer than hittee. Slow or little foot movement. Getting hit while "thinking" about proper position. Sloppy or weak commitment . (Bad coaching -- offense)
