If Hatch is the "starter" and has clearly beaten out Lee, then Lee will only see action in mop up duty next week, correct?
he will see a few series. . .this whole game is "mop up duty".

Give me an example that runs contrary. Only Lafell being pulled for Byrd comes to mind, but that HAD to be done (drops ).

So if Lee gets time in the 1st quarter, and the score is 7-0...it still means Hatch is clearly the starter and has won the job, correct?

If he is only NOT starting due to his recent injuries, then why would he come in during the first quarter?

If he comes in during the first half, before it gets ugly. . .then I would say that is EXACTLY what it means!

I have some pretty high expectations for hatch. BYU usually brings in some good QBs, and I for one am glad he is now a Tiger.

I don't. I just hope he doesn't lose us any games until JJ is ready.

Quickly, name the last qb at BYU to do anything?

He was recruited by Crowton not really BYU. Why didn't BYU stick with him after Crowton was gone? Why didn't Crowton try to bring him to Oregon?

Because Hatch hasn't outperformed him so they will both get a chance with the starters to see who wins the job.

For clarification purposes only...are you saying it would still mean Hatch was the clear starter or are you saying you would then believe that Hatch starting had more to do with Lee's injury?

Keiland his freshman year ended up being the starter by the end of the year, so Miles has done it before.

And you can't compare the way Miles has handled Qb's in the past with this situation bc Miles hasn't had this situation. Since Miles has been here, there really wasn't a question who should be starter. So we will see how its handled but at this point it is all speculation.

Well crowton was the head coach, so I'm pretty sure that means BYU was recruiting him...

I'm sure when you are interested in a school through is offensive scheme and that guy leaves you might second guess that decision? Plus BYU still had John Beck maybe.

Kellen Clemmons and Dennis Dixon?

Right, Crowton offered him. Crowton left. Then he ended up at Harvard. One of two things happened...he no longer had an offer to BYU or he chose Harvard instead. I think the answer is pretty clear.

That makes sense. But since Crowton went to Oregon, that brings up my other question.

Yes they did. But they still would have had him when he first was offered and committed to Crowton.

Kellen Clemmons and Dennis Dixon?

So he wasn't good enough for Oregon, but he is for LSU?

I'll throw in another question. Regardless of how you think he ended up at Harvard, why was he so low on the depth chart? If he could potentially start in the SEC for the defending national champs and have "big things" expected of him, shouldn't he have been more than a JV QB and like 4th on the depth chart in the Ivy League?

I don't think freshmen play varsity in the Ivy League

Roaad has somehow determined that Lee sucks and will never play meaningful football for LSU...I think it came to him in a vision or something.

If you don't think Lee can throw us through a game then you have obviously never watched him throw the ball.

No, but from a recruit standpoint you have to look at the people in front of you. Both Clemmons and Dixon were underclassmen and not everybody is willing to wait 4 years to start.

When he was at Harvard he was a Freshman...how many times does a true freshman come in and start?

I'm not saying hes going to be the next Tebow or Sam Bradford, all I was trying to get at originally was that historically BYU recruits well at the QB position and although Hatch didn't enroll in BYU originally, talent wise I believe he is going to bring something to the table and I have high hopes for him.

No wonder you're analysis is off.

To be honest, yes I would love to because all the stuff that you have been saying is laughable, so I wanna know who this "source" is because he has a great sense of humor.
