back in the 90's and maybe early 2000's there was more parity between conferences. fans wanted everyone to know that we played in the toughest conference in the nation. it was more of a national respect thing.

but since then, there isn't even a question. there's no reason to chant SEC SEC because everyone knows we're the tits.

it's hard for me to cheer as an LSU fan for someone like Au or bama, etc. vs let's say wisconsin because why would i wish success upon teams we probably share recruiting battles with?

it never made sense to me to cheer for AU over oregon in the NC. why? so they can use that success to possibly turn an LSU recruit?

cheer for LSU. everyone else can kiss our tiger dicks. respectfully of course.

I will still root for any SEC over any OOC school, including Bama

Ditto, except Lobbying Mulliganama. I'd root for General Zod, Gort, and the Cloverfield Monster over those anal orifices.....

I've been trying to tell a lot of people this for quite a while, rooting for teams that are in direct competition with you, when it doesn't help you at all is fricking stupid. The idea that Florida beating Ohio State was a big reason LSU got in tje title game the next year is fricking stupid.

It was a "no win" for LSU.

LSU wins...OSU should have been there with their offense.
Beat OSU...Bama was really the 2nd best team
Lose to either...and well...LSU loses.

It depends on the situation. my mostly unbridled loyalty went out the window following the 09 game and I cheered for texas.

I'll pull for SEC teams only if it's beneficial for LSU, which in football it often is.

frick Auburn first and foremost.

Then Go to Hell Ole Miss

Then Buck Fama

Then frick Ar-kansas hard

After that, I might be inclined to chant "S-E-C"

Never had much "SEC loyalty" to begin with. I bleed purple and gold, not blue and yellow.

This is complete crap and a terrible case of inferioity complex. LSU wins that game against either team, we are 14-0, unanimous #1 in everything, there is no discussion. If we had beat Bama soundly like they did to us, there may have been some backlash against the all SEC matchup and Bama being there after not winning their conference, but that's it.

First of all, if OSU was there, they would have also been undef

This X infinity.

My degree say Louisiana State University, don't say nothing about the South Eastern Conference.

I really don't get the USC hate in 2012(unless you're a Vol)...I enjoyed watching USC spank Arky and Auburn a few years back and I would be thrilled to see them take Bama or Florida to the woodshed as well.

However, I will be rooting against Penn St. in every type of competition, even if they play Bama again.

As far as the rest of the SEC, I usually pull for the underdog.

concise...and to the point.

frankly, I couldn't give a rats behind about the rest of the SEC. this regional/conference bravado means nothing to me as I lived much of my life in the northeast and on the coasts of cali and carolina. the rest of the sec are nothing but the enemy and I don't sleep with the enemy. they will do whatever they can, fair or foul, to beat us and the only way I can honestly accept that challenge is to be all in for LSU...and frick the rest. you asked.

1/9 didn't change anything for me. I didn't root for Bama vs. OOC teams even before then. I will root for any other SEC school but not Bama.

Before the MNCG I was talking to a Bama fan and said that the good thing was that at least the SEC streak would continue. She said, "Who gives a frick about that?" That didn't change anything for me but it did reinforce what I already thought.

I've never changed how I've done it: pull for every SEC team against out of conference opponents...except Bama. And I've been doing that long before that game.

+1. Oh, I like some SEC schools - I always wish UK well when they play. I like it when UGA beats UF. I like USC's rise in the East. But I despise Bama and Auburn - the can lose every time they play and I'm not sad. I'm indifferent to MSU, Tennessee, Vandy, aTm, Mizzou, and mixed on Arky and Ole Miss.

My 10 favorite teams:

1. LSU
2. LSU
3. LSU
4. LSU
5. LSU
6. Florida State
7. WVU
8. VA Tech
9. Texas
10.USF

Not really, I still root for all SEC teams except Alabama.
If LSU doesn't make the CWS, I hope Florida, SCar, or Vandy does the deed.
