Has this defense regressed?

Last year they were on the field all game long and still kept us in most of the games until they wore down in the end…
I thought with the long drives this offense delivers, the defense would be fresh and fast at the end of each half….and they simply haven’t been.
Maybe the ceiling with baker is a defense with excellent statistics, but one that lacks situational awareness in critical moments and can’t be counted on to beat the opposing offense when they go to their best plays….can you win a championship with that kind of defense ?

This board has a serious issuing with believing that whatever is happening ‘right now’ is how it always was and how it will be for the rest of eternity

Last years defense was pretty thin. Losing Reliford hurt. Green, Blockton. DMac, Carpenter are Jags imo. Prince and Geralds are the only 2 dominanting. Richardson has flashed but it will take another off-season for him to catch up to Geralds.
At LB theres Whit and Dottery then a drop off although Keys has played well.
Losing Spears hurts eventhough Benefield has played well at the Star. When Baker goes into zone that has hurt both Pickett and PJ.

Keys is solid in run game usually. He is the biggest pass coverage liability we've had at lb in quite some time

Losing the QB of the Defense in weeks hurts more than we think.
Keys is a couple tiers behind him.
Spears was a huge loss as well.
That hurts AND a shite play calling performance from Blake Baker.
arguably his worst during his tenure here.
