Methinks RS's career at LSU is in jeopardy. #1 dual QB threat coming out of high school, highly touted. "Hybrid" player for college, Les Miles does not know what to do with him or how to properly use his talents.

Season 1- Started out as a running QB, never given the chance to do so or run the TRUE Wildcat.

Season 2- Tried to make him a passing/running QB, he does not know the plays, early in the season they try to convert him to a WR, but he does not have the skill sets. Drops a lot of balls and improper route running.

Season 3- Does something stupid and gets suspended and new kid on the block Odell Beckham steps in and looks like the real deal out there. Smooth and fluid, no panic and catches everything. Rare traits for a freshman. These are troubled times for RS, and I am a fan.

he and obj aren't competing for the same position, imo.

if they are, obj wins that in a cakewalk.

shep is a slot/rb hybrid. obj is an outside threat with hands.

The Tigers get back junior wide receiver Russell Shepard before next week's game at No. 18 West Virginia. Sheppard's big-play ability and versatility might allow Miles to open the offense a little bit more.

"I think there are some things we'll do and very specifically with him, honestly," Miles said.

he'll play.

don't forget the word was he was having a really good fall camp.

we could use his running to stetch the field out horizontally

not once has he taken a true QB snap. Don't know what you're talking about as far as making him a running QB the first year and then a passing/running QB the 2nd yr.

Agree but with Landry and others, now with Beckham, there aren't enough slots on the field or enough plays to figure out a way to get RS out there IMO.

I love the position we now find Shep...he has to play his way back in the lineup with tremendous effort which I think has been lacking in the past....particularly the dropped passes...I think the wildcat has seen its day....but we shall see...glad he is back and ready to see him live up to the hype...

give him 8 carries a game to ease the load on Ware. I'm worried if Ware gets hurt with his running style that Miles' fallback is Blue as the battering ram, who is a CUSA level talent.

This. Did he even really have a "starting spot" to begin with?

We've never really used him in this way. That's what we should be doing. Most of the time last year we had him lining up wide and running deep. When he did line up in the slot and go short or on a slant, JJ fired a 90 mph fastball at him that he couldn't catch, or he simply just dropped it.

This is actually perfect. With ODB playing solid it gives us an opportunity to move shep all around the field and allow us to use him in different ways.

i'm glad that shep's coming back because it brings another dimension to our offense.

he's a good whip man, and teams have to respect that when he's in motion.

just one more look to show.

Pre season he was listed at the "2nd" starting WR with RR.

This. He should be a running back or go focus on track.
