The programs are very similar, but they've a notch ahead. Hate yo admit. We can't beat them and they don't lose to shite teams like Ole Miss and Clemson. We need to beat them to get back.

Sunshine pumpers hate this fact.
im not pumping sunshine but bama did lose to an Auburn team we demolished.

And dont give me the "they hadnt gelled yet"

We have dipped into the silver era, but we about to go platinum in the next couple years.

Idiots that expect championships every year are the reason for posts like yours. "Golden years" to me means perennial contenders which LSU is in football and baseball. No one wins championships every year. Learn to deal with losses and your life and this board will be much more tolerable.

Basketball is on the way up. The football team is still elite. We are always right there a couple plays away. We have the talent right now to make another run depending on qb play the next 3 years or so. I'm not as huge of a baseball fan as some on here, but it seems they are holding their own but can't quite get over the hump.

Being arguably the second best program in the country over +/- a decade means that football remains in its Golden Age. Yes, it sucks that the inarguable #1 program over that span is in our division, but it doesn't take away from what the program has accomplished - including an SEC championship and some wins over Bama.

Baseball is in a Silver Age and has been since Bertman left. that is no knock on Mainieri, who has kept the team in the top 5-10 programs in the nation and put another skin on the wall this year in the SEC tourney. Unfortunately for him, the Golden Age in baseball, from roughly 1990-2000, included 5 natties. That is tough to match.
