Great job Mr Harrison!!! I am expecting him to win considering how dominant he was. Wishing him the best in Tokyo!

I don't follow college track much. But if they consider his US trials results he should be a unanimous favorite considering he's the first athlete to qualify for the US in both the high jump and the long jump since 1912.
Eta: Nm, just read the link and it says only results through the 2021 NCAA Championships are considered.

Dude deserves it.
2021 high jump and long jump champ.
Won both in 2019. Probably could have won both in 2020.
My only question is can he triple jump?

I’m fascinated by his double. The technique and approach, so I’ve been told by a college jumper, makes sense on how you approach and push off. If you noticed in the NCAA when he missed his first jump in the high jump, he started too far away from the bar. I just think it’s hard enough with 2 events from stress much less 3. He is essentially sprinting all out in that long jump the jamming his foot flat to align and gain control before his final push off. All that takes time. I would imagine if he jumped the Triple, it could mess up his high jump technique besides taking more of his energy. There may also be a timing issue for qualifications ie you may not be able to do the triple as it may conflict with the high during qualifying. I’d have to look at the schedule.

He probably could. My thoughts are that as he grew up, he was able to do one of the disciplines really well, while being pretty good at another. He'd be stretched thin trying to compete in two so it would be incredibly difficult to master three jumping techniques.
