Sorry you had to learn the hard way. 17-64 seeds are seeded based on geography and story lines

It was the SEC schedule order that possibly cost a matchup against a lower seeded host. At 42-19 and 15-15 LSU would not have been matched up with a national top 8 seed.
The inexperience on the team was not ready first half against the tougher teams first five weeks. Probably a 2 or 3 game difference if they had played some of the better teams later.
