What an amazing day for the next head coach of LSU to hold his introductory presser.

“The dream dies for LSU!” - not so fast, Verne…… 14 short years ago today, Tiger Nation sat at the edge of their seats and watched intently as a majestically mustached Dave Wannstedt hobbled around on crutches and guided an under-matched Pitt Panther team to one of the greatest upsets in CFB history over #2 WVU in Morgantown. The upset was vital in propelling #7 LSU to the BCS Championship.

To this day, THANK YOU DAVE WANNSTEDT! You will always hold a special place in my heart.

Never forget 12/1/07

Dave is the reason for the season

Like five things had to go right that weekend for LSU. A bookie would’ve gladly had a parlay.

I remember the refs were trying to give West Virginia the game at the end.

I remember looking at the paper Sunday morning and going through each game and the excitement and disbelief kept building till finally I got to the last game and couldn’t believe it. I didn’t talk to anyone saturday because I was in bed sick. I had no idea

Yeah. Single digit IQ Les Miles tried to blow it a week prior with the Ar-Kansas debacle. Wannstedt, as well as the crazy BCS computer formula, bailed that dumb arse out bigly.

I hear you brother, but let's give LeSean McCoy some love as well.

Rich Rodriguez was in shock after that game. Can't blame him.

That was a great chance for WVU to hit the big time.
