I agree
And I even Made a thread saying: don’t forget this is an amazing class.
I think Sopsher is just a perfect storm of factors that would put people in a bad mood
-Committed to Bama
-O was a DL coach
-from Amite
- last name on the board
-position of need (although I think He’s a NT and not a DE and I like Ika)
-high profile because of how high he was initially rated

It absolutely sucks not getting him. But for people to be melting over this is ridiculous.

I actually Agree
It’s all recency bias
If he commits to Bama in December feel like we’re happy today.
Idk we needed DEs. I an Legitimacy concerned about that position in 2020, but luckily Lawrence and Fehoko came back. We could have beeen fricked thisnuear

He’s right. It’s not Eauxs fault he got beat on the trail again. Why would that be the head coach’s fault? Bunch of negas up in here

I would be more upset if I thought we had him. I pretty much wrote him off as a bama kid. We definitely need some dl in next classes or transfers

Him?
What about the other 3 his whiffed on??
This was an absolute disaster in our “trench warfare” for a supppsed DL guru and makes 2019 even more urgent to win big now because 2020 is going to be ugly.
Honestly if it wasn’t for Emory this class would have been very troubling.

please tell me how recruiting works. Do the position coaches recruit an area or positions? What is the most important in recruiting...the HC, the DC or OC, or the position coaches?
Is Dave Aranda only responsible for LB's?

One would have to be living under a rock to not get frustrated by some of the things that have been said and happenned under O...
"I've learned my lesson. i'm going to let the coaches do their job and coach their unit"
... O-Canada feud about control of offense
"I'm going to hire the best offensive coordinator in the country"
... we hire Ensminger, Miles' TE coach
"We've got to get better on the defensive line. I've got to recruit better on the defensive line."
... current DL recruiting class is shaky at best
It's not like O has been here a decade where it would be expected that at least a few things didn't go to plan... These things are piling up in merely a handful of years with him at the helm.
I do think overall the program is stable under O and any "decline" that seemed to be happening under Miles has been stopped for the time being, but nonetheless it does get very frustrating to hear declaratory statements from O and see the exact opposite play out. Best case scenario, he has great intentions and simply says what the fans want to hear. Worst case scenario, he straight up lies to the fans and/or can't finish the job.

The head coach is *the* most important of course.

Well yeh but many recruits fall in love with the coach recruiting them right? Who was recruiting the guys we lost?

It is the truth it hurts

I would Probably put
HC and position coach over DC
HC and position coach over DC

I wrote him off months ago, no chance for him.
We hit on Ika, lost Sophster. I'm not unhappy at all with the outcome.
Our D line haul next year looks to be very good.

WTF? Dave Aranda is in no way shape or form responsible for any of these recruiting failures. it's all on O and everyone else.

Sick of hearing excuses. You must be.
The excuses are legitimate. The talent gap is a legitimate reason, coaching ability and preparedness is an even bigger liability. If you can't see that, I can't help you.

So every recruit we get and lose is all on the HC & "everyone else" is your answer?
