The 2020 class is off to a really good start on the DL. Looks like the guys committed now are guys we can hold. They'll just be playing a lot early in their career

In spite of what's said here being thin at corner was a more glaring problem than an issue along the defensive line.

Good post, but this is nonsense. I don’t know how many times I’ll have to post this, but we will have 10 veteran defensive linemen in 2020. Freshmen will NOT have to contribute.

Our 2020 line will be anchored by veterans Neil Farrell, Glen Logan and Tyler Shelvin. Backups will be Cotton, Jenkins, Thomas and Livingston.

We will also have the 2019 class of Ika, Evans and Fonua. All of this to man three positions. Lost in the hysteria of missing out on fatso is that Orgeron has successfully rebuilt the dline depth chart, and we will no longer be relying on freshmen, unless they are generational talents

I borrowed this post from Spotswoode. I hope that he doesn't mind.

It’s not quantity it’s wuality

Nelson, Evans, Thomas are all 3* we know nothing about.

Farrell is solid. But you’re not winning a championship with a team of Farrell. Clemson wasn’t smoking Alabama with Farrell type players at DL.

Will have to see how it shakes out, but I do think the DL panic is overblown. Will see how transfers and injuries work out.

For the record,
1. This is a great class
2. I think Ish is a bust
3. We got the best player in the country.

All that said you still had our staff and HC openly say DL was their focus and we missed on the last 3 guys we had on our board. It’s their job to know when they are beat and get on a different kid.

Hanny said we won’t beat Bama as long as we get outrecruited in the trenches. Is he wrong?
Should we have gone after the little guy from country day that kept Ish at bay all game?

Ok and? So are you saying they had the wrong guys on the board? Did you know they weren’t coming but the staff didn’t? Do you agree that they said it was our focus?
Are you agreeing with me that we whiffed and its not good?

Sounds like Moore is kind of dirty. Did Auburn not know that his grades weren't in order? Something is fishy. Is that why LSU cooled off on him a little or was it all his strange behavior during his visit? Is Auburn left holding the bag? I don't really know how that works. I guess that he doesn't count against Auburn's total now.

Young and Sophster were never coming to LSU regardless of what they told the staff.

The main issue is drama queens who can't grasp the split signing dates and focus solely on a couple of players while ignoring that we nailed most of the class in December.

So, they focus on two guys who played the Bama games, totally forgetting the ones who didn't and are going to be in uniform this fall.

Then why is O here at all?

Simple, Saban broke Miles in Jan 2012 and he was never the same. The program was falling fast under Les. Change was needed.

Maybe, but Les NEVER crapped out 63-10 three years in a row and 39-0 in Baton Rouge. Talk about broke!

So O failed again to land big time players. For such a big time recruiter, he fails a lot at the end of the recruiting season a lot. Top seven by ESPN is not bad. He one day might get as high as Les did regularly.

Wake up and smell the coffee, Rog. Saying LSU missed players we could have used both last year and this one doesn't make anyone a drama queen. But your continually whining about how O is treated does sound titty baby like.

O got 8 of the top 10 players in Louisiana. He didn't whiff on anyone. The class filled his needs nicely.

How many studs have ended up at Alabama or Clemson or other places in the last three signing classes O has handled? It was a nice class. Seventh in the nation by ESPN. Not up to Les standards, but nice.

I said it was a nice class. I said I wasn't calling for O to be fired. You seem like you cant handle the slightest criticism of your hero. Grown up

Other schools are going to get studs but so is LSU. Sometimes coaches evaluate a player and when he's a take fans are left scratching their heads. This is when you have to trust the coaches ability to judge talent. We all love the star power but if the coach likes the guy you roll with it.
An example of that is in this class at corner. The second best cornerback is a 3 star that will get playing time this season.
