how so?
I didn't mean equivalent as in the exact same, more as in the same level of difficulty.
The only qualification that ND has that no one else has is if we're in the top 8, we automatically get a birth. That's it. Let's be honest, too, virtually any team in the top 8 is getting a birth, and any team that's the equivalent of ND's prestige/fanbase/$$$ (Ohio St, Texas, etc) and in the top 8 WILL get an at-large birth, if they're not already an automatic conference champ. In addition, ND doesn't have any shot at getting a birth, if outside the top 14, like a BCS team might (if they win the conference).
I guess my point is it really doesn't make sense when people complain about ND's BCS qualifications. It's the exact same as everyone else's (9 wins, top 14, to be eligible, it's not like 8 wins and top 20, like some act). The only added stipulation ND has that no one else does is ND goes automatically if in the top 8, and even if that wasn't there, ND would be in a BCS game any time we were in the top 8.

Notre Damn will end the season much better than LSU, I'm afraid.

HaHaHa: When did Notre Dame pass LSU?

Very possible, They have a better QB than LSU.
He's thrown a total of 20 passes....and completed 10.

He ranks teams where he thinks they will finish, not necessarily who he thinks is better.
7-5 teams are not the first ones in "others receiving votes.

I guess when you lose your starting quarterback to the NFL draft you have the same team the following year.
LSU lost our starting QB in 2006 and started the 2007 season #2.

actually given PJ's record of predicting, LSU will have 5 more wins than ND and the QB (Crist I assume?) will be benched, while JJ is 2nd team all SEC.

ND must win 9 games to automatically qualify for a BCS.....
that's what I wrote. And they have to be in the top 16 too.
I'm pretty sure that does not automatically qualify them, but makes them eligible for the BCS.

Phil is more of a schedule guy than anything. Give LSU ND'S schedule and I could win nine games as QB!!!!!!

That's because we still had the Saban influence. I distinctly remember Steele's quote that year:
"While LSU has lost QB Jamarcus Russell as the #1. pick in the NFL draft, Nick Saban's influence is still firmly entrenched in Baton Rouge and is stronger than the mindless influence of Les Miles. Further, the Raiders signed what will turn out to be the biggest bust ever. In 3 years, the NFL will be talking about how poorly LSU players are performing in the NFL".

Predictions are based on many factors. One of them is PERCEPTION. Last year LSU did not do well in close games against quality opponents. There were opportunities to win games but they could not get it done. Unfortunately one of those was the debacle at Ole Miss mostly contributing to coaching. The PERCEPTION is that LSU is on a slide without a solid QB. I also think the PERCEPTION is that Miles does not have great Gameday coaching skills. In the SEC, that means L's. Until this is dis-proven with W's, the PERCEPTION will not change.

he obviously has a lot of respect for Kelly and thinks he is a much better coach than Miles.
Based on what? Kelly may be the most overhyped new thing since Curly Hallman. He hasn't really done anything, even taking Miles out of the equation.

He also has Oklahoma # 1 after losing how many to the draft. I just don't see it.
