See I hate this. No you dont stop driving, but if people took appropriate actions and didnt drive while drunk, talking on cell phones, etc that # would be down. That # would also be down for flu victims if people took the proper actions. And the same thing is true for swine flu. The only difference is that this flu is worse because more younger people will die who could have avoided it, instead of the elderly who may have it comin one way or another.

Im sure you dont live your life in ignorance, because you take the proper precautions when you drive.

The same study said that the virus was passed much more by "direct contact" rather than airborne.

So go to the game and keep your tongue out of your neighbors mouth. Unless of course she is a complete fox. Then it will be worth the risk.

Driving is not just a function of your behavior but of others that you cannot control. The point is risk. If this, if that. It is reality. Your risk of catching flu in Tiger stadium is no more than your risk of having and auto accident. Your risk of dying in an auto accident is far greater than your risk of dying of the damn flu that you caught in Tiger Stadium.

DOC,

You are one of the most naive idiots I have noticed in the past 24 hours.

I'll let you know how you stand next week.

You just compared a commonplace activity like driving to a specific situation that rarely occurs.

I think you need to understand the meaning of risk. If you need help I can give you the statistical formulation. I could also do the calculation for you.

ok, formulate shite then. I don't even know what you are getting at here. If people dont get a flu shot every year, a lot more people will die. Thats what is going on here with swine flu, it could be many months before they have vaccinations available. And who knows if they will ever have enough for everyone. Also, being sick for a week is a pretty big deal when you are in school.

eta: im not even sure what we are arguing about anymore. is it your denial of swine flus relevance?
