This is total complete bullshite. People have shown immune responses to this virus.

Well yes...people can DEVELOP immune responses. The statement was that when it first came out, no one HAD an built in immune response. Your body had to build one.

Here is an illustration:

Note the delay for a spike after first exposure, and how rapid it reemerges for a second?

CDC laboratory studies have shown that no children and very few adults younger than 60 years old have existing antibody to novel H1N1 flu virus; however, about one-third of adults older than 60 have antibodies against this virus. It is unknown how much protection may be afforded against novel H1N1 flu by any existing antibody.

Even if it's not going to kill me(which I seriously doubt it would), I would prefer to not be throwing up for a week.

Influenza infects the cells of the respiratory system. It rarely leads to gastrointestinal problems. If you are puking or spewing from the other side, you probably have something else.

Big deal. It's the flu. Who here hasn't had the flu? You get stopped up, achy, and feel weak for a few days. Many Tiger fans do this to themselves every weekend during the football season by going on drinking binges.

While the second part is true, influenza does sometimes cause gastrointestinal problems...usually in children.

Yeah, I've pretty much accepted this.

I barely post here anymore, anyway. Too many retarded/redundant threads in Politardom. This was probably always the case...I think I've just reached my limit.

Do your migraines typically cause you nausea/vomiting?

Anyway, it's a minor detail...

so when the CDC states that over 90,000 people could die from H1N1 this flu season, they are lying?

The CDC didn't state that. It was the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. This is what the White House wants you to believe.

what you fail to realize is that it's a chain reaction.

typically, the mucous that is infected by whatever strain of flu you have drips down your throat and into your stomach, causing you to become nauseated and to throw up.

how can you not understand that?

if you can't understand that this isn't just the "flu", I don't think you ever will.

oh, and alcohol decreases immunity of the flu viruses in the human body.

couple that with sitting amongst 92,000 other fans and this flu season could be interesting...

You know what would be funny as all hell? A diarrhea pandemic.

People banging on bathroom doors at work because the people inside aren't leaving fast enough, and then the inevitable shitters of the pants as they waddle to another floor for another bathroom.
