beam and floor will be the strength for this team this year.

Sure looks that way. We went a long way toward exorcising last year's demons once we put up solid beam scores after Macadaeg's fall (which I'm chalking up to first meet nerves). Then our floor scores were the highest of any event for either team.

Macadeng wasn't on last night. She led off 2 events with terrible scores. Hopefully she can find her legs.

CheerWhine - where are the judges from - regular SEC or NCAA?

I was a little confused how they judged bars, they were pretty harsh.

What was most impressive about this win was how clutch it was, after a few mistakes throughout the meet, the performances after were very strong. In years past we have fell apart.

I am super excited about next years class as well, its pretty damn good.

Lots of great pictures out there from this meet. My GF also showed me a video or timelapse someone made. Great crowd out there yesterday, so I was told. Pretty legit for a sport people often forget about.

Gnat's vault has slight form issues in the air (legs come apart a bit) and her landing was stuck for one half of a second but she clearly had to step back while she was saluting and took another step or two while turning. If she had not moved at all then it was 9.95 easily. I am glad to see her finally break 9.9 on the DTY. Maybe she did it once or twice but last year she was underscored and went back to the FTY. Did the same her freshmen season. The full going down to a 9.95 is big incentive for her and she really opens up for that landing, she WILL stick it cold at some point.

LSU looked good and this is with some people just coming back and not at 100% plus missing a key player on FX in Savona. This team can compete with any one but we have to clean bars and we really need another 9.9 bar worker somewhere. Wyrick is capable of that score but she is already in our lineup. I wish we had someone else in the wings but perhaps next season they have a good bar worker coming in. Ruby Harrold is committed and she has made event finals at Worlds on bars. Oh, and Priessman could be an improvement for our lineup on bars, she looked good up until that dismount and that should come with more training.

Does anyone have any idea why Gnat's bar score was so low?
