How does his announcement take away from the celebration?

Good, this is a life changing decision. Changes the lives of your family for life. You do not risk this with nothing on the line. Every player in that locker room has his respect. Congrats young Man U deserve it.

The selfishness goes both ways with this. It’s his career and money on the line so I don’t see how anyone can criticize him.

I just think it's a poor message to send and a terrible trend. What kind of effort is he going to give in contract years when he's in the league? Is he going to hold out when he wants a new contract? No need to risk getting hurt when money is on the line.

sure, but I was looking through the years and I can't find any examples of players declaring prior to the bowl game and still playing in the bowl game, at least for LSU

I didnt thumb thru too much but I noticed Hayden Hurst declared early Dec last year and played in the Outback bowl NYD

It does look like most who declare this early do not play. At least that was the case last year with several FSU players

Man man man, I am so happy that LSU has become a place where LSU is irrelevant and the nfl is everything. I understand that this is a business decision, but man is there any pride? Get ready to see a mass exodus of underclass players to the nfl draft leaving LSU without any depth whatsoever.

I don’t know, but I know it won’t make any damn sense just like it did last year. They’ll receive a 7th round draft grade and convince themselves that they’d better get the money while they can instead of making the smart decision of coming back to school to gain more experience and hopefully improve draft grade along with finishing school. This was the reason LSU had such a terrible offensive line this year. You just wait and see what two consecutive years of this does.

Hell im not sure it would be a good idea to even reach the playoffs, because when we do our star players will decide to forgo the game because it’s a business decision.

Ill be interested to see if Deandre Baker plays in the sugar for Georgia. He’s considered to be a top 15 pick and right behind Greedy as the next best DB.

i dont think so either. Both Fulton and Fehoko are going through surgery recoveries.

Lawrence is the obvious highest risk. The fact that he is doesn't make 21 until late September next season tells me he isn't in any rush to jump. He still has some maturing and developing to do, plus he loves school from what i gather.

The last memory I will have of him is Greedy giving up the td pass. Good grief.

Greedy is selfish, not the fans. Play for your fricking team and support the success of LSU.

His team is far less butt hurt than the fans - that's undeniable.

OK. Cool.

Good for this young man. It's been a pleasure watching him play. I hope he has a long and successful NFL career.
