I’m disappointed that he’s not playing in the bowl game. We’re very short on CBs

He did, he sandbagged some in that game and didn't "go all out" the rest of the year.

I think you are wrong.
I think the NFL notices when a player quits on his team. You think they want to draft a laveon bell type that holds out for a “business decision” and quits on his team? It’s essentially what Greedy is doing. He’s saying my future earnings and next contract are bigger than the team.

All things pertaining to sports are small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. We're speaking in context here, man.

The only people who think these are low character moves are the fans of the specific team to which it's happening. No third party, particularly not the NFL, would question a move like this.
BS. It's a selfish move and all parties know it. And why would the NFL care? They care about their bottom line and nothing else. I couldn't care less what they think.
Let's just say not every athlete in this same situation takes this route. That tells you that some guys feel like they have a commitment to honor and others simply don't.

The fact you think it's about commitment is naive IMO. It's about perceived risk, plain and simple.
Ultimately we all know it's in the athlete's best interest to skip, so asking them as a fan to do otherwise is selfish, no?

Jeez guys, get a grip. Some of y'all are acting like spoiled brats. Greedy is making the right decision whether you like it or not. Him and the other high profile recruits come to LSU with one ultimate goal. To get to the NFL. He has that now. Greedy is a first round lock as long as he is healthy. Why would he put himself in a situation to risk that? His signing bonus will be more than the majority of the baws on this site make in 10 years. I think Devin White should do the same thing.
You get a grip.
You think you are right because you think money is everything. The difference between 8 million and 12 million. How many people in the twilight of their life do you hear say they wish they would have done or sacrificed something more for more money?
He could have gotten hurt against A&M.
He could get hurt training for the combine.
He could take out an insurance policy if it was all about money.
He quit on the team. End of story. It’s his choice, but money isn’t everything, and no matter what he’s still going to make a shitload of it.

What is the NFL draft order?
While certainly not in stone at this point, it's getting pretty close already.
Look, the point I'm making is this. I've read a shite ton of mock draft stuff on line and I don't see Greedy mentioned as a top 5 pick based on the shitty teams that will be picking early on. We can all but assume the Jets will be picking in the top 5. the Raiders look to be there, the 49'ers, Lions, Falcons? Again, the order doesn't matter, it's the team and the needs of the team. If you look right now at the teams listed above, they're aren't shopping for a DB.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for the kid and personally believe he's one of the top three DB's in the draft. That said, I don't believe he's going in the top 5.
Do you?

Do you think anyone on this team is upset with Greedy's decision? Serious question, because I don't think a single player would be mad about it.

Are u talking about jaylon Smith?

Not really. Different people have different values. Some see loyalty to the team as honor.
There's not enough honor in the world imo.

quote:Well those star athletes like Greedy have helped make LSU the national brand it is, generating millions of dollars in revenue each year. If he wants to cash out a month early, then he damn well should. As I said earlier, high profile players come to LSU with the ultimate goal of being prepared for the NFL. Greedy has achieved that goal. Why risk it?
They’re selling out early to agents. Trading a month of practice and bowl game to get the money a month sooner.
I guarantee you the other players understand. They may not like it, but they understand. Half of them grew up without 2 pennies to rub together. +2 million guaranteed is life changing money to them. Hell, it would change my life, and I grew up blessed.

You don’t know shite. You are an immature little brat just like him.
You act like all he has to do is get drafted in the top 5 and that’s it... his life is set. No true. You have to be mature and make good decisions.
Just ask number 1 overall pick Jamarcus Russell. Dude is broke a frick. How did that big pay day work out for him.

Think your strengthening my point so thanks (His teammates)? As an individual, he’s getting way more than he’s given LSU as an individual.

No I don’t.
And the reason for that is because now everyone only cares about themselves. They say “go get yours because if I get the chance I’m going to get mine”. Everyone has the same mindset. And that’s fine... but that’s not a team.

I don't disagree, which is why I don't think commitment is the reason some top picks play. I thinks it's simply a different perceived risk.

Tell me what’s different about Greedy than anyone else on the team that has the possibility of getting drafted?
They only have one shot too. Why should they play?
