Les Miles really felt for Adam, too. He visited him several times during his fight with cancer. My brother was there with Les Miles when Adam was passing and when Les left the room after talking with him and presenting him with his honorary degree, he looked right at my brother, shook his head with sadness and just said, "Can you believe that?" And left. What a great man/coach to take the time to do something like this for Adam. The best part is the lack of press - you know its out of his own heart.
RIP, Adam. He was the most positive kid I've ever met.

Oh my gosh, I missed the story when it was originally posted. This may be one of the saddest and nicest things I've ever read.
I know sometimes we get caught up in the w's and l's, myself included, but les is a great man and a great representative of this school. Every time I see les in a social situation I'm astounded at how real he is.....something rare for major college football coaches, and even rarer for those in his tax bracket.

Thanks for the article post and don't ever worry about the germans thing, because I think a lot of us don't make their living reading the rant everyday.

NO pain is greater than this pain.Time to embrace and cherish the Corbett family, the Miles family and the LSU family.

Nice story about the Corbetts and Les Miles. I'm so sorry it didn't have a better ending for the young man and his family...
Hoping the Corbett family is able to endure the unendurable.

Strictly as an aside to CLM's character, in his interview last wk, T.Matthew said that CLM had visited him several times at his apt after he had been arrested, to "check up on him & see how he was doing". Which clearly indicates that CLM cares bout his players way beyond their status as a player on the field. And some people seriously think players are bailing out on the program because of CLM??

Exactly. Leslie has that special something that makes his players, for the most part, want to run through brick walls for him. This story tells a lot of that tale, I think.
