What is wrong with the quote? Blame the OP for not giving you the question that was asked, but the quote itself is not dumb

Since OP is absent

Reporter: “Jamie, with your son Walker’s injury, do you wish he would have opted out his senior season since her was already one of the nations top recruits?”

Jamie’s response: "I think that's something society is down on a little bit, they're always trying to protect for future stuff as opposed to living now and being a part of something you've already made a commitment to."

I truly am amazed how badly Walker wants to come here with the way his father was and still is treated.

Did you ever think that Walker may feel 100% comfortable at LSU, and he wants to win a NC at his parents alma mater ? Walker was extremely close to his mom who was a huge Tiger fan and loved everything LSU.

Jamie was never the sharpest tool in the shed at STM, knew him personally and played baseball against him. Dude clocked 98 on us but was wild AF. You could frustrate him pretty easy by showing bunt and pulling it back, get your base on balls pretty easy on him as the innings progressed.

Jamie was also single-handedly the reason why LSU did not go after Jake Delhomme a year later when Jake graduated May 1993. Archie Manning told every single LSU recruiter that even though Jake was at a single A school at the time (Teurlings dropped to 1A back then), that Archie had never had someone with Jake's football IQ at his summer camps. But Jamie went to the coaches and threatened to leave LSU if they recruited Jake. The rest is history, Jake went on to turn USL from a dumpster fire to a very good program, started all 4 years. No doubt in my mind Jake would have taken Jamie's job as a frosh and never let it go.

I guarantee that she did not love the way Jamie was treated by LSU fans.

The quote of from a newspaper article. He's talking about Walker returning to play and finishing what he started with his teammates. I just like what he said, because the mentality of these kids now a days it's a lot easier to just bail and go somewhere else instead paying your dues. I'm a high school coach and players have left us. Matter of fact one player who left this year, a coach form a D1 school said he was going to offer the kid but the moment he transferred this past summer, he wasn't going to offer him. Parents need to have Jamie's take on things. What are you teaching your kid if you encourage him to bail on a school who has treated your child well.

You cannot seriously contend that ULL has been a "good program" for the last 30 years.

And even if what you say is true, you cannot blame Jamie for (1) protecting his job; and (2) leveraging his promising baseball career to do so.

It seems like what you describe was a coach's decision.

I said a good program when Jake was there, I also called them USL and not ULL, the latter started in '99/2000. Jake played at USL from '93 to '96 seasons.

Learn to comprehend. Reading is fundamental.

Are you contending that USL is not ULL and that USL was a good program but stopped being so when it turned into ULL?

No. You said turned USL into a good program. You didn't say only during the years that Delhomme was there.

I can read. You just have poor syntax.

Pretty clear what he's saying.

Play & keep your commitments to the team and quit worrying about future earnings/draft status/etc.
