So I jumped on the computer and started searching flights and rooms. What are your suggestions on when a good time would be to book the trip. And don't be a smart arse and say once we win the Super. NO shite! I need to book it as early as possible, like today to get a decent rate on a flight ($249/round from Htown), but want to know for sure were going obviously. You know what Im saying here. Anyone with experience? Thanks!

I always plan on going no matter what when I decide to go. So I book it early, like now early

I'd book as soon as you could. The earlier the better.
One thing I always recommend people is to fly into Kansas City for a much cheaper flight and then rent a car and drive 2.5-3 hours to Omaha. ESP if you're with a group in which you'd be having to take taxis everywhere once in the city, it's well worth it because then you would all not have to worry about the taxis and would all get to split the rental.

This is already late but if you still have a chance to do it... Do it. The time of your life if you are a baseball fan. It is the Mecca

I went in '09. We decided on Friday (pummeling of Arkansas) to go to the finals. Used priceline and got $50/night hotel. Outfield tickets were $10 each for general admission. I don't know about the new stadium, but they were not hard to find.

Stay in council bluffs across the river. With the new stadium being downtown, it is literally a 5 minute walk to TD Ameritrade Park. Much cheaper hotels

I appreciate the help! Ive been but it was when I was a Freshman at LSU in 98 and haven't been back since. I can actually get a roundtrip flight from Houston to Omaha for $249 right now, so that the route I will take but the rental car is a great idea. I don't think we will need one cause we staying at a hotel within walking distance from the stadium. How far is the LSU bar from the new stadium? And whats the name of it?

Figure I will ask in this thread. I can't do it this year, but would love to go with my Step-Dad(UVA fan) sometime. About how much would I need to save. $1500? He doesn't need plane tickets, since my Mom works for Delta.
It's a shame I wouldn't be able to do it this year seeing as both LSU and UVA should national seeds.

Barrett's is the LSU bar and it is a little further from TD Ameritrade than the Blatt was but $10 cab ride tops

That's like saying "I gotta call that I have a coupon for $5 off my next $100 purchase"
Tickets are everywhere my man. One night in a hotel room will cost you double every single ticket you'll buy over the course of a week.

How much will the flights be right after the supers? I'm only going if we go and don't wanna buy a plane ticket until we make it.

I wish someone would create a thread: "everything you need to know about your trip to Omaha"
I want to go but would love a trip advisor type post.

Smartass #1....I realize tickets are easy to get, but I sure as hell aren't going unless I have an LSU friend with me. That's what I meant and Ive got a couple on board now!

Agreed. Southwest has a flight per day nonstop from NO to KC now. You should be able to get RT tickets for between 200 and 300 dollars. KCI is north of KC, so you get a jump on going to Omaha. Check out Oklahoma Joe's BBQ in KC or Omaha - it's the best!
