I really liked Gordy and Charlie on the pre/postgame shows. I'm gonna miss that. However, I like the Alan Risher selection to replace Gordy. Someone earlier mentioned Moscona, and he's very entertaining, but he won't have as much insight and actual "game break down" as Risher will. The man played QB at LSU and in the USFL, and he has kept in touch with the program. He'll have some good insight into what's happening on the field, and what might be going on inside of the Miles/Kragthorpe headsets. Of course, I think that was a huge strong point from Gordy, he had family on the coaching staff so I'm quite certain he knew a good bit of what was happening in those coaches meetings, even though he never would reveal that on the airwaves.

Well, I honestly can't remember Risher's style but I do remember Rush getting absolutely upset at one point on the air and I enjoyed that. Showed passion and no-nonse approach, even though he was just a commentator...I felt like he challenged the coaching staff's decisions and I'm just not sure Alan Risher would do that.
I really don't feel like listening to a Jordy (agrees with everything) next to Charles' down to earth approach. If he can provide some depth to the analysis and form coherent opinions then I'll be a supporter. Charles/Gordy really had great chemistry though...He's probably hoping he'll eventually make it up to the booth next to ole Skeletor oneday.

Living in Montana, and apparently missed out on the scoop. Is Jordy finished with working for LSU altogether or is he staying on in some other capacity. Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer.

I like this move, Gordy knows football and will provide better insight to radio listeners. However, I will miss the post game show while sitting in traffic!!!

Agree with this because Gordy does know football, but likewise will miss him while listening to the post game show on the internet.

It has been rumored/speculated/maybe confirmed that Jordy has continually pissed people at LSU off with his morning talk show that he does on 1210 in BR. He gives too much "inside info" that is not supposed to be shared...things he picks up from the locker room, etc. Also, he apparently made some comments about Nikki Caldwell during an interview that were inappropriate that LSU didn't like.

Yep. Jordy didn't keep confidences that he should have. But, he will remain with Cox.

This has to be the funniest thing I have ever read about Jordy!
Quoted from another OT'er
My favorite Jordy moment was when he was being lauded by Ed "Drugs" Buggs on Channel 2's newscast every night as..."...the J-MAN!".....
He was doing a show on Sunday Nights on WBRZ...Sports Sunday or something like that...Co-hosted by Ruffin Rodrigue and Greg Bowser...They took live calls...
One guy eventually called in one night...and just blurted out, "Hey Jordy, you c0cksucker, how's your hammer hanging?" before he was quickly cut off....
From there on out, Jordy would always say...."and remember...we do have...." at which point Rodrigue would finish, "....Caller ID."
Classic...and sums up this area's feelings for Jordy's Catholic League Candy arse...

He was a 2nd rate QB and that's all he talks about when he's out in public.
When my (now) wife was in college, she met Risher in a bar. He introduced hemself by name and she had never heard of him. Left him speechless!

Just getting back on after haying all day now that we have some good weather in Montana and thanks for the information about why Jordy will no longer be affiliated with LSU. Thanks so much from the Big sky Country of Montana where I am teaching other Montanans to become partial Tiger fans.

I'm curious to hear Risher opinion of JJ. Risher ran the ball but not as much as JJ. Neither are good passers but Risher helped get us to the Orange Bowl his senior year '82. Hopefully Dalton Hillard will be a guest on the post game show.

Uh I think Risher was a much better passer than JJ not even close. Different era and the ball is thrown alot more now and much more multiple WR sets but his senior year he had some big games especially when you take into consideration the era. Big passes to Eric Martin and Malcolm Scott.
As far as what he said about JJ he said he felt the game would slow down for him this year. Also said you cant argue JJ has made some horrible decisions and he thinks Krags will cut down the field for him and reduce the amount of decisions JJ will have to make. Overall he thinks JJ will have a good senior year. Said if he falters he has heard through his sources in the program Mett has been a pleasant surprise but thinks Lee will get first shot.

Risher will do post game, Ponamsky will do pregame with Charles.
The show after Miles show on Wednesdays will be Ponamsky and Charlie.

I read the release on LSUSports.net about this...and my "bullshite sensor alarm" went off at warp speed.
What a load of crap and a lame attempt at covering up the fact that Jordy was shite-canned. Jordy needs to be "allowed" more time to "concentrate" on his Cox duties??
Let me translate the release into normal-people speak
"Rush was added to the Network after Jordy's arse was fired. Out of respect for Jordy, we didn't want to say that he got fired, even though everyone knows he was fired"
Oh, is Hanagriff doing the Sunday night show so Jordy can also take that time to "concentrate on his sideline duties with Cox"?
