Likely so, just as many on here (including myself) were critical of Fournette when he did it.

I appreciate the honesty, Joey. But if I recall correctly, we're in the minority because most people on this board didn't criticize Fournette for the pose. They were in the "let the kid celebrate" camp.

And I agree, Fournette has done much better since then.

Fournette has been fun to watch.

My only question is does he break Faulks record here?

Not a question of if, but when.

I realize most of this board has a bias towards our own players. Understandable. But let me toss out a hypothetical: Instead of Fournette, let's say it was John Smith for Alabama. As a freshman, against a Div I-AA team, Smith ran off-tackle for a simple 4-yard TD in Bryant-Denny stadium and flashed a Heisman pose. Before that, Smith's family had made up a hand signal and created a nickname for him, that they consistently promoted. What is the Rant's reaction to John Smith doing this stuff? If it's supportive, I'll be very, very surprised. I would think the Rant would be destroying him

I do agree that you make a valid point here. I can say for myself, I wouldn't appreciate it at all from an opposing player, however if it was a one time occurence, and also as an 18 YEAR OLD FRESHMAN, I'd like to believe I would not hold that against the kid for the rest of his football career.

Other than the hand sign, which I think is more of a tribute to Lousiana than anything else, and the one time heisman pose, he has never done anything else that could be considered arrogant/cocky.

You want to see some cocky mofo's just take a look at the ridiculous behavior of pretty much any UFC fighter today. Those guys heads are inflated to degrees its hard to describe.
