If we lose we're not going to Sugar Bowl. Alabama is pretty much a lock for Sugar. We will fall behind them in rankings.

Glad K State doesn’t live rent free in my head Everyone knows that bowl game was not representative of LSU football with the state of our roster at that point in time.
If some K State fans want to consider it a credible victory that says more about the desperation of their program to be considered a national power.
I moved on from that game after it was over.
We have bigger program ambitions than to be concerned with the K States of the world

Ain't worried about no K State

You should be. They're playing the best football in the country at this point in time. They're beating the socks off everyone, including Okie State and Baylor.

K State will hammer TCU in a Big 12 CG rematch.

They also lost to a slumping Texas team and Tulame, who got schooled at home when people finally started paying attention to them.

They are well-coached, but they don’t have a lot of top-tier P5 talent outside of Vaughn and a couple of others.

K State is irrelevant nationally. I don't give a damn about last year's bowl game - we had no players, a WR playing QB, and a ghost coaching staff.

Revenge on K State doesn't even exist in my mind because that bowl game was utterly meaningless.

Adrian Martinez (QB) and wide receiver Malik Knowles have been wrecking havoc on defenses all season long. And Deuce Vaughn is the second coming of Darrel Sproles-- he's a Clyde Edwards-Helaire powerball running back whose determination exceeds his physical brute strength.

Never underestimate this year's K-State team. They're gonna smash TCU in the Big 12 CG.

Agree with this. Revenge for a Texas Bowl? We’re better than that.

However, Kansas State is better than they were last year. They’re pretty damn salty and may wind up beating TCU to win the Big 12. Probably would have 1 less loss if they hadn’t had QB injuries. Not that we won’t win, but they are better this year than their national perception, and a win against a pretty good team who nobody thinks actually is, is not gonna do much for us nationally. Especially in a game very few people would likely watch. Nobody cares—or even remembers—that they beat us in the nothing bowl last year.

It’s not an intriguing matchup and it starts at 11 a.m. I’d play anybody in a NY6 over anybody in the Citrus Bowl. But give me a bigger brand matchup over any such weak arse “revenge” game against Kansas State. Clamoring for it just validates them, and they’re not on our level.

Certainly possible considering where they’re ranked now. But, we’d both have finished the regular season 10-2. We’d only have an extra loss because we had to play the SECCG against the #1 team in the country. And we have the better wins. Their only good win is against Ole Miss. (It’s strange how a win against a good team, almost by definition makes it a lesser win simply because you gave them an extra loss). We beat Ole Miss too, but also have that head-to-head over Bama on our resume, and they don’t have another comparable win.

And again, in the weird world of rankings, Bama being ranked so high makes our win over them better, but puts them in a position to jump us if we lose to Georgia.

But I don’t think they will. I don’t think it’s justifiable. They have a win over Ole Miss, and that’s pretty much it. Their main argument “for” is 2 last play losses against good teams. The committee will take that into account.

That said, I’d be fine with it as long as we go to the Orange Bowl. BUT, if Georgia runs us out of the building next Saturday, not only could Bama finish ahead of us, I think Tennessee gets back in the conversation for those 2 NY6 bowls that go to the 2 highest ranked SEC teams who didn’t make the playoffs. Us, Bama, and Tennessee are all likely gonna finish the regular season 10-2, but they have head to head against both of us if they start having that conversation.

This matchup would be as entertaining as bookending the season with Florida State somehow.
